Abstract:Research purposes: The simple turnout is adopted in the traditional way of connecting auxiliary line with main line in urban rail transit. If symmetrical turnout or three-way turnout can be adopted in urban rail transmit, by which the construction investment can be reduced largely.
Research methods: Based on the investigation of arrangement types of and operation status of auxiliary line in urban rail transit in China, the analysis and comparison are made for the differences among symmetrical turnout, three-way turnout and simple turnout. In addition, the research is made on the reasonable plane arrangements of symmetrical turnout and three-way turnout when stabling siding and inbound-outbound siding are connected with main line.
Research results: If symmetrical turnout or three-way turnout is adopted to replace simple turnout in urban rail transmit, by which the amount of construction work and construction cost can be reduced and the efficiency of train shunting operation can be improved.
Research Conclusions: The research shows that it is feasible and necessary to adopt the symmetrical turnout or three-way turnout for stabling siding and inbound-outbound siding. Moreover the related research work should be done and the turnouts should be produced urgently in combination with the process of construction of urban rail transmit.
