Abstract This paper presents the importance and necessity of building Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line through analysis of the present situation of carrying capacity of Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Railway Line and plan of passenger traffic network of Chinese Railway, analyses and demonstrates the main technical standards adopted on the line, studies the schemes of the line approaching to terminal and sectional direction of travel according to the traffic characters of gangway, overall terminal plan and geological situation along the line, and evaluates the expected economic benefits of the line.
