Abstract The paper introduces the selection and implementation of the construction schemes of track laying and bridge erection on the border area with 23. 5‰ grade and the long steep grade in the northern sections of Neijiang-Kunming Railway. It expounds emphatically the techniques of track laying and bridge erection equipments concerned with the technical measures to prevent the sliding and the measures to guarantee the construction technologic quality for track laying and bridge erection. These successful experiences for safety track laying and bridge erection provides useful reference to the mountain railways.
