Abstract:Research purposes: Standard of transition curve length is one of the main standards for railway permanent way design and it mostly lies on riding comfortableness and influences route selection, design optimum and precisions of construction and maintenance, so it is necessary to do research on it.
Research conclusions: Rational choice of design standard and calculated result is feasible in technology with definite limit. Base on the method mentioned in this paper, alignment design will be more flexible and design can be optimized reasonably for providing favorable conditions for construction and maintenance, reducing construction cost and reflecting the design concepts of putting man first and servicing traffic.
