Abstract:Research purposes:The Line 1 of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Xiamen is the Chinese first BRT reserving the technical conditions to be upgraded to Urban Rail Transit (URT) in aspect of civil engineering. This paper systematically introduces the research process and scheme on choosing the reserved URT of running train of linear motion actuator for BRT No.1 Line in Xiamen to be upgraded for the purpose of providing the reference to design of BRT reserved the condition to be upgraded to URT in other cities.
Research conclusions:From the research on choosing the reserved URT of running train of linear motion actuator for BRT No.1 Line in Xiamen to be upgraded, it is concluded whether BRT will be upgraded to URT or not, or upgraded to how much traffic volume of URT depending on the predicted forecast passenger flow and the traffic capacities of BRT and URT. In addition, what form of URT adopted, such as underground form, ground form and elevated form, should be determined according to the traffic organization, geological conditions, site conditions, demolition factors, project time requirements, landscape, investment and other factors. Finally, based on the comprehensive considering the various technical indexes of all forms of URT and project construction conditions, the proper reserved URT form should be chosen.
