Abstract：The paper introduces the general situation of the underground engineering works and the geologic state of the public square at Gongbei Port in Zhuhai City. Being directed against the complex geologic conditions，etc，the scheme of "underground diaphragm wall +counter weight fill work +partial topdown construction method" had been adopted. The design，calculation，construction，supervision and several relative problems are expounded in detail and explored in this paper. Structure safety of this engineering project was guaranteed，the construction works were convenient ,and the time limit for the project was more reasonable.
