Abstract：The author participated the cooperating construction of shallow tunnel section with soft surrounding rock in the Yun-Ji Highway under the Yichang Railway Station. According to the in-situ construction and design situations, the selection of excavating method for such tunnel section, the design of supporting structure and its relative construction techniques, working out the construction measuring standards and their implementation situations, as well as the situations for constructing the supports, etc. are reviewed, analyzed and described in this paper. The paper provides a scientific practice for design and construction of tunnel with the similar working sections hereafter.
