Abstract：Combined with practical engineering example of a synthetic office building for the Shanghai Minitary Police Command School, the pile box foundation was used by adding piles under the box-typed foundation to fulfill the requirements for enhancing the bearing capacity and preventing the deformation. This pile-box foundation is a box-typed .structure which consists of the bottom plate .top plate,outside wall and inside longitudinal and lateral walls ,and by which the upper loadings arc distributed to the piles. The paper proposes the analysis on the pile-box structure, as well as its calculating methods.
