Abstract：By analyses ,a simplified calculation method of active earth pressure on back of abutment under earthquake condition hag been put forward. Calculating results prove the reasonable of this method. This method has also the following specialities ;considered fully the railway loading characteristics，taking into account the error of earth pressure caused by larger steep inclination of back of abutment,avoid the limitation for applying the formula during φ<η.
