Abstract:The large bridge o f Huang baihe Riv er is a co ncrete fi lled steel tube arch bridg e w ith a main span of 160 meters. It i s the lo ng est spa n of this kind of bridg e const ructed by new method in China. This paper discusses briefly i ts structural characteristics and describes the desig n and computa tion of the st ructure under the si tuatio ns of construction, o peratio n, earthquake, etc. Sev eral testing result s of th e st ructural enginearing wi th concrete fi lled steel tube used in the desig n are also presented.
