Abstract:The development speed of high-speed railways and urban rail transit lines is very fast in China, and a large number of comprehensive transport terminals have been planed or constructed. This paper focuses on research on functional components of comprehensive transport, main features of various modes of transportation and transfer requirements and passenger flow characteristics between various modes of transportation which can play a guiding role in planning, design and construction of future similar projects.Research conclusions:(1) A comprehensive transport terminal is a system engineering that covers a variety of transportation modes and a variety of disciplines, so systematic research should be carried out on planning, design and construction of the comprehensive transport terminal. (2)Layout of the comprehensive transport terminal is the key topic to be studied when the terminal is constructed. The planning, design and construction of a comprehensive terminal should take planning as the core, streamline as the orientation, with active coordination among parties, to solve the main contradiction and strive to maximize comprehensive benefits of the construction concept.(3) Reasonable guidance system can improve the efficiency of the terminal operation. (4)The research results can provide a theoretical guidance and decision-making reference for construction of comprehensive transport, also can provide construction experience to the engineering designers for the similar projects.
