Abstract:Abstract:Research purposes: As the load of car overhaul and heavy repair in a metro workshop is increasing,as well
as the flow process technique is applied to the works,the design of workshops is more and more complicated,and the
efficiency more and more depends on the virtue of design scheme. By studying of the flow process technique and the
workshop layout for car repair,it is expected that the methods,principles and examples could be brought forward Nor
using in the design,construction and operation of metro depots.
Research conclusions:(1) The analyzing methods and examples for work bays capacity matching and the equivalent
capacity of the workshop were presented,and it showed that the utilization rate of each work bay could not be 100; on most of cases,so the calculation and analysis should be done by designers on each project. (2) The scheme of using traverse table is more flexible to work sand more easy to accommodate the work circumstances. On case of that the cars
to be repaired do not need painting and the capacity of workshop is some little,the through workshop layout scheme might be available. ( 3 ) The four types of workshop layout and their pre - conditions were presented in this paper as references for engineering design.
