Abstract:Research purposes: Through the engineering construction practice of the Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway, this study begins by analyzing the national conditions, economic development levels, natural geographical features along the railway line, current status of construction technology, and the process of refining design schemes. It analyzes the formation basis and adaptation conditions of the Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway's technical standards and engineering measures, as well as the process of forming Ethiopian railway design standards and technical systems. Drawing from Chinese railway GradeⅡstandards, the technical standards for this railway are organized with the concept of "localization of technical standards, practicality of engineering measures, and sustainability of the ecological environment". With economic analysis as the core, this study summarizes the continuous improvement and innovation of these standards in local engineering practices and economic development. It proposes an economic analysis of Chinese railway technical standards on the Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway. Research conclusions: (1) The construction of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway should be based on local economic conditions, technical status, ecological environment, and resource availability. (2) The construction of the Ethiopian railway should align with economic and production layout; the upstream and industries supporting railway operations, such as transportation, power, and human resources, must develop synergistically.(3) Ethiopian railway technical standards need continuous improvement and innovation within local engineering practices and economic development. (4) This study can guide the practice of applying Chinese railway technical standards internationally.
