Study of Suspension Mode Influences on LIM Metro System Dynamic Characters |

Abstract Research purposes: Air gap variations, vehicle and track dynamic response characters are analyzed and compared of different suspension mode on linear metro system.
Research methods: Vehicle/track coupling dynamics theory is applied and different model is built based on different suspension mode. Harmonic cosine forms of irregularities are introduced to local track.
Research results: The acceleration in different direction and wheel/track force has small differences under different suspension mode, but the law of air gap variations appear sharp different.
Research conclusions: Under bogie suspension, long-wave irregularity with 5.5 mm amplitude must be strictly controlled to avoid the scrape between LIM and reaction board. Under nose suspension, short-wave irregularity with large amplitude should be restricted to avoid large air gap that influences the efficiency of LIM.
