Abstract This paper describes the development history, present situation and features of passenger dedicatedlines over the world, points out the experience and lessonswhich should be drawn by us, presents the main problems in construction of four longitudinal and lateral passenger dedicated lines and key technical problems in construction of infrastructure, and proposes thinking onleaping development of railway. Therefore, completely new concept should be established for construction of passenger dedicated line.
