Abstract The higher requirements for traction power supply net are needed by the development of urban mass transit and the way of power supply by the third rail is widely used. This paper gives an introduction to the installation technique and standard concerned for the third raid based on the example of installation of steel-aluminium compound rail of Wuhan Mass Transit, for reference to similar construction.
