Abstract Yuanliangshan Tunnel is the longest single-tracked tunnel during construction of Yu-Huai Railway. The allocation of its construction machinery is introduced in this paper. It is expounded that by adopting the traditional construction methods (such as full face tunnelling method or lower guide-adit method) and allocating national-made machinery may obtain also stable and high-efficient rapid tunnelling speed for construction of railway extra-long single-tracked tunnels. Therefore, the good allocation of construction machinery is the key for guarantee rapid tunnelling of extra-long tunnels. At the same time, several suggestions are proposed for allocation of construction machinery for extra-long single-tracked tunnels in China in the future.
