Abstract SMW technology has been adopted in many enclosed walls construction projects，but there is only little summary about it. This paper has summarized SMW piles engineering and its construction of the background near Qing'an Temple Station on No. 1 Line of Shanghai Metro. By using this summary，the engineering technicians can easily predict the trend of the deformation of the piles according to the monitored data.
