Abstract Large area planting trees and growing grasses for plant protection was designed for the first time on the side slopes of roadbed for the dedicated Qin-Shen passenger traffic railway line. The overall requirement of "constructing Qin-Shen railway line as a green corridor" will be implemented basically. The situations and experiences of design and construction of these plant protection projects are introduced in this paper.
