Abstract Nowadays, along with the rapid development of the mufti-stroey high buildings, the guard wall in mud and the cast concrete-in-place superlength bored piles were applied widely in foundation engineering works. Based a practices in recent years, the common defects in quality occurred during construction procedures are introduced in this paper, and the corresponding prevention and treatment measures are expounded in detail.
