Abstract The preparation to construct the Chuan-Han Railway and the course of construction of the Xiang-Yu Railway from the year 1965 are reviewed in this paper. After the construction of Xiang-Yu Railway had been accomplished，the existing problems are expounded and the reconstruction works had been put forward. The prospect on implementation of construction. of the Xiangyu-Chuanhan Railway in the future has been also proposed.
