Abstract The understanding on tunnel slide and its treatment methods have different contents during different times. Nowadays, as the geological forecast, blasting technique, supporting measures and mechanization level have been fully developed, it may be considered that the tunnel slide over 90﹪ may be avoided and it is possible to avoid entirely. The paper expounds the different types of tunnel slide and analyzes the different reasons which influence the slide of tunnel. The countermeasures for treating the tunnel slide and the new technologies which should be put forward for preventing the tunnel slide are also proposed.
