Abstract The material foundation and basic law of karst collapse s evolution are treated in the paper. Based on previous scholars work，a method predicating railway s karst collapse by plus sing le evaluating factor together is developed. The evaluating factors are selected from those that can be observde easily along a railway，such as geological structure，landforms，etc. In the Nan-Kun Railway，the dangerous distribution of karst collapse predicated with the method conforms to the result of drilling well， showing that it can be used practically.
