Abstract The co rrosion mechani sms o f co ncrete and reimforced concrete are ex po unded in detai l. The cor respo nding pro tectiv e requi rements and pa rticula r measures hav e been propo sed. Pa rtial research achiev ements and thei r applica tions concerned wi th the co rrosion pro tectio n in our count ry are int roduced al so. It i s aimed at deepening the understanding on the harmfulness of the corro sion o f co ncrete, and at taching the impo rtance to the co rrosio n o f co ncrete fo r dif ferent co nst ructio n departments.
