Abstract This paper discusses the several factors which influence the minimum curve radius on a high-speed and medium-speed common railway track. The regularities of the minimum curve radius are analyzed superficially. There are three target values for high-speed，L e. 250km/h，300km/h and 350km/tu A preliminary view at the minimum curve radius on the tracks corresponding with the above three speeds has been proposed.
