Abstract By applying remote sensing technique of aerial survey，there were a large amount of practical experiences accomplished by the Professional Design Institute，such as selecting the schemes of the railway lines，preliminary surveying, graph making, technical reforming the existing railways，increasing the secondary railway lines，eliminating the track diseases， etc. Based on these experiences，the applications of the aerial survey remote sensing tech?nique on the earlier stage works of the railway constructions and the reformations of the ex?isting railways are systematically described and are recognized to be applicable with high technical superiority and profound significance. The paper suggests also the measures for im?proving some problems existing in the applications.
