Abstract The paper gives a general description on the implications of synthetic prospecting. The present situationg on the development of synthetic geological prospecting in railway sys?tem and its existing problems are preliminaryly analyzed. The following four aspects are aimed to be analyzed and the preliminary countermeasures and suggestions are proposed：the important features of synthetic prospecting and the conditions of its applications ,the optimal organizations and the procedure of prospecting，the synthetic analyses and applications of the prospecting data,and the made and system of organizations of the synthetic prospecting. They may be used as reference for developing the synthetic prospecting and for applications of symthetic analyses.
