Abstract Abstract:Research purposes: Aimed at the seismic design problem in designing the 11 Hongtaiyang" bridge which is a half - through heterotypic arch bridge in Changsha - Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line, reasonable seismic design system and effective earthquake resisting methods of the bridge were studied. Meanwhile, a longitudinal retainer simulated by a nonlinear spring element was set to ensure the bridged safety under earthquake action. The safety performance of the retainer was evaluated by calculating its seismic response. Research conclusions:( 1 ) Seismic response of piers is greatly reduced by using half float system which avoids designing coarser abutment piers. On the other hand, using sideling suspenders can effectively decrease longitudinal displacement of the half float system, and the results show that the seismic structure system is reasonable and reliable. (2) The longitudinal retainer commendably restricts the structure s longitudinal displacement under earthquake action. And the maximum stress of the retainer is less than its yield stress under the effect of design earthquake which means that the retainer is of enough strength and the structures service safety under earthquake action can be guaranteed. (3) The research result can provide reference for the seismic design of the same heterotypic arch bridge.
