Abstract Abstract:Research purposes: In recent years, the trams projects began to develop in China, some cities have begun to prepare the design criteria, but have yet to form a general design specification. The designing of the trams projects almost is based on subway design specification, combining with the characteristics of the trams. Because there is no current specification, we should carry on the thorough research in the design process according to the characteristics of the tram, to guide the engineering design.
Research conclusions: Based on the example of Yizhou avenue in Chengdu, the crossing signal priority strategy and priority parameters were studied, some suggestions for the industry were put forward, the following conclusions were drawn: 1 ) In order to guarantee the tram streetcar pass the crossing, the phase of tram should be more than 35 seconds; (2) In tram signal priority, the maximum time of extending green light phase is 20 seconds;( 3 ) The maximum time of shifting to an earlier date for green light phase is 5 seconds;(4 ) Induction coil embedded recommendation is located at about 150 m in front of parking location of intersection; (5) By taking tram relative priority strategy, the average delay time of the trams crossing is 30 seconds; (6) The research results can be used to guide the tram intersection signal control design in China.
