Research conclusions: Based on the actual geological conditions，the response spectrum method and the direct integration method were used to calculate and compare the response difference of the bridge between using the ordinary basin bearing and using the double spherical isolation bearing． The results showed that using the double spherical isolation bearing could much reduce the horizontal seismic force of the low pier top and meet the requirements of the big displacement of bridge structure within the regional geological fault zone． It provided the basis for optimal design of the bridge substructure，producing good economic and social benefits． This was the first time to apply the double spherical isolation bearing in railway bridge project in the geological fault zone and it would provide the reference to the similar works and provide the technical support to the revisions of the design specifications and standards．
