1 Analysis of Formation Cause and Movement Characteristics of Mud - stone Flow in Mengshuiling of Hainan Province

Research purposes:A large mud - stone flow suddenly happened in the Qingshuiwan section of Hainan east ring railway to be open for traffic soon and the eastern speedway. The mud - stone flow flowed over the railway embankment and passed through the space under the bridge and then flowed over the speedway surface into the South China Sea. By observing the forming process of mud - stone flow and using the various means,such as geologic survey,aerial photography,exploration and field test,the analysis of the formation cause for giant landslide,the mechanism of turning landslide into mud - stone flow and the runoffing and accumulating characteristics of the mud - stone flow was made.
Research conclusions: (1) The appearance of the giant landslide in fluidity area reflected the features of the suddenness and the high - level and high - speed movement of gaint mud - stone flow.(2) The broken weathered granite rock mass and the unfavorable structural plane were the basic condition for landslide. (3) The effects of the heavy rainfall,loading and water softening along the steep under structural plane were the direct cause for the landslide.(4) After the landslide was rapidly gliding,the landslide disintegrated quickly and turned into mud - stone flow with water.Then the mud - stone flow constantly scoured the ditch bed to cause increasement of the water content gradually and quickly moved for about 4 kilometers.(5) The Qingshuiwan section of Hainan east ring railway and the eastern speedhway were located in the outside edge of the accumulating area of the mud - stone flow.When the mud - stone flow arrived at this place,its intensity was much weakened with less destroy degree.

5 Study on Contribution Rate of Landslide Intensity of Each Province in China

Research purposes:The landslide is unevenly distributed in China,and there is big difference in the landslide intensity among the provinces due to the different geological environments and human environment.In order to master development degree of landslide disaster in China,the study was done on the contribution rate of landslide intensity of the different provinces through 737 landslide samples with their landslide volumes between 5×10 and 2.5×107 m3collected from 31 provinces in China.
Research conclusions: The contribution rates of landslide intensity of 10 provinces,including Sichuan,Chongqing,Hubei,Gansu,Shaanxi,shanxi,Guizhou,Hunan,Xizang,and Yunnan are high with distribution rate up to 60.1% of the total distribution rate,and they belong to the high intensity regions of landslides. The distribution rate of landslide of the another 11 provinces,including Liaoning,Xinjiang,Jiangxi,Jiangsu,Ningxia Heilongjiang,Tianjin,Jilin,Shandong,Hainan,and Shanghai are low with rate up to 13.4% of of total rate and they belong to the low intensityregions of landslides. After the study on the contribution rate of landslide intensity of each province in China,this paper presents an efficient classification of landslide intensity for providing the references to the construction programs and the landslide prevention.

11 Research on Consolidation Coefficient from the DMTA Dissipation Test

Research purposes:Based on the basic principle of flat dilatometer test (DMT) ,the discussion was made on the way for deriving the coefficient of horizontal consolidation from DMTA dissipation test in theory. As the same time,combined with the DMTA tests done in Huzhou experimental section of Shangqiu -Hefei -Hangzhou Railway and the Changshou experimental section of Shanghai - Nantong Railway,the theory and method for obtaining the coefficient of horizontal consolidation from the DMTA dissipation data were analysed by examples.
Research conclusions:The results of the coefficient of horizontal consolidation were compared with CPTU dissipation tests data and laboratory odometer tests data. Comparisons of the results indicated that the coefficients of horizontal consolidation determined by DMTA tests and CPTU tests were very close. The correlation was good between the coefficient of horizontal consolidation determined by tests and CPTU tests in homogeneous soil,but it was poor in non-homogeneous soil.The coefficient of horizontal consolidation from laboratory odometer tests was smaller than those obtained by DMTA and CPTU test,and it was the same as that reported by other researchers.

18 Research on Controlling Post - construction Settlement of DCMP Composite Foundation of High - speed Railway

Research purposes:The treatment of the soft soil foundation of high - speed railway is crucial to the post -construction settlement of the subgrade.The deep cement mixing pile ( DCMP) is one way to treat the soft soil subgrade,and whether it meets the relevant technical requirements or not relates to the application of the DCMP in treating the soft soil foundation of high - speed railway. The effect of treating the soft soil foundation with deep cement mixing pile was fully studied by doing the field experiment.
Research conclusions:The experiment shows application of DCMP in treating the same soft soil subgrade as in the experimental section can meet the requirement of post - construction settlement for 5centimeters in a short period.The stress and differential settlement of composite foundation can be adjusted by gravel mat and geogrid. The pile body does not penetrate into embankment with the gravel mat and geogrid under it. With gravel and geogrid,the goal of homogenizing the stress and adjusting differential deformation can be achieved. The analysis of tested settlement show the rate of consolidation of the DCMP composite foundation is faster than the natural foundation.

23 Aided Design of Cross Section of Interactive Subgrade

Research purposes:The design of the subgrade’s cross section is the major work of subgrade design and is the base of completing the elevation drawing,vertical section drawing,plan drawing and other drawings of the subgrade.This paper presents a graphics - data interactive driven,visualization and real-time dynamic interactive CAD( computer aided design) system for the subgrade’s cross section.
Research conclusions:Based on the concept of the interactive software design,an object - oriented model was established for design of the subgrade’s cross section to have the subgrade’s cross section made to order. According to the design process of the cross section based on message - driven,the logic relationships among the various designed entities were concentratedly managed by their AcDbObjectId pointer in the cross section model. In order to design the huge sections in similar environmental conditions,the piecewise parameterization method was adopted. The user could draft and edit the graphics by elastic - effects dragging because the graphic entity's pinch point functions were reloaded.The users could define the design drawing by theirselves because the entity's drawing functions were extended. This system could real - time response the user's design operation. The design parameters could be modified by editing graphics directly for strengthening the user experience. Moreover,the system could cope with the a large number of batching designs and particular customized design. Finally,the real - time interactive CAD was established for the subgrade’s cross section based on graphics - data interactive driven.

27 Seismic Tests and Analysis of Warped Reinforced Earth - retaining Wall

Research purposes:According to the engineering features of the Xiangyun Station of Guangtong - Dali Railway,the research was done on the reinforcing mechanism,load bearing,deformation,design methods,computing theory and the failure mode of the wraped reinforced earth - retaining wall under earthquake effect to improve the computing theory and numerical simulation method for the seismic design of the reinforced earth - retaining wall and promote the application of reinforced earth - retaining wall in engineering.
Research conclusions:The warped reinforced earth - retaining wall is better than the ordinary earth - retaining wall in seismic property because the wrapped effect can make seismic wave weak during the propagation and amplification of the seismic wave along the wall up.When in 0.4 g and 0.616 g ,the model produced the evident seismic fall,and cracks happened in the junctions between the wall panel and the reinforced soil and between the reinforced soil and the unreinforced soil.In the peak acceleration,the potential fracture surface of these two kinds of experimental models were distributed in the same position,approximate to 0.45 H vertical line. But in the " Code for Design of Retaining Structure of Railway Subgrade" (TB 10025—2006) ,the potential fracture surface is approximate to 0.3 H vertical line and it slants to unsafety.So the reinforcing length should be increased in design. From the theoretical calculation and the analysis results of the internal and external stability of the reinforced earth - retaining wall obtained by the test data calculation,it was seen the coefficient of sliding resistance,the coefficient of capsizing resistance,the coefficient of uplifting resistance of the whole wall and the coefficient of uplifting resistance of the geogrid in various layers obtained by theoretical calculation were larger than the test data calculation. This showed the current code was unsafe and could be properly modified.

34 Research on Option of Macroscopic Track Alignment with Hierarchy Analysis Method

Research purposes:Option of macroscopic track alignment is crucial to the track stability. This paper,considering the option needs of macroscopic track alignment in the Anhui section of the Yuzhou - Bozhou - Suzhou Railway,discusses how to apply the hierarchy analysis method in option of the track alignment to overcome the difficulties and problems in option of the macroscopic track alignment.
Research conclusions:( 1 ) Basing on hierarchy analysis method execute macro - trend line options,needing fully analysis and demonstration of the advantages and disadvantages and various economic and technical indicators,in order to reasonably establish judge matrix. ( 2) In the course of analyzing judge matrix and concluding relative importance and the comprehensive importance for every program,comprehensively compare the interrelation between all factors of each level to ensure scientism of the selection of optimal program. ( 3) Through argumentation about the example of macro -trend line options in Section of Anhui of Yuzhou - Bozhou - Suzhou Railway,fully demonstrating that the hierarchy analysis method could be applied to macro - trend line options and local program options and the research field of multi - objective decision making.

38 Online Test on Laser Glazing Rail of American Railway

Research purposes:At present,the annual traffic volume of the heavy - haul railway in China has been approach to 500 million tons.Using the laser surface engineering technology to improve the wheel /rail relationship and prolong the rail overhaul interval has already become a pressing task. Nowadays,in this field,the laboratory test and the on-site research and application in China mainly include the laser transformation hardening technology and laser cladding technology have been more frequently used,while there is little information on the laser glazing technology and its application in glazing the wheel /rail surface.This paper in detail introduces the research on the laser glazing rail test in FAST at TTC and its ex-post analysis report announced by the office of federal railway administration in May 2007for the purpose of giving the reference to domestic researchers.
Research conclusions:(1) The reason for failure of laser glazing rail is the continuous extension of cracks induced by laser glazing in fatigue conditions.(2) The laser re - melting overlapping zone is the most sensitive area where the residual stresses promote crack formation and spreading.(3) The laser glazing rails must undergo a complete metallurgical evaluation to determine their integrity before installation on track.

43 Design of Swinged Continuous Beam of Super - large Bridge Crossing Wuhan - Guangzhou High - speed Railway

Research purposes:The super - large bridge of the Wuhan - Xianning intercity railway is the bridge crossing the Wuhan - Guangzhou High - speed Railway,with main span of 48 + 80 + 48 m continuous beam structure.The construction method of grouting cantilever first and then grouting the swing body was conducted to the beam. In this paper,the introduction is given to the beam construction,including the beam structure,the beam construction method and erection by swing method.
Research conclusions:The erection by swing method is a good way for construction of the bridge above - crossing the busy existing railway.This method has the features of money - saving,practice,safety,reliability,cutting the influence of the construction on traffic and reducing the construction risk,and has a wide applicable prospecting. The design and construction of the swinged continuous beam presented in this paper can provide the important reference to the similar works,especially to the bridge design for passenger dedicated line.

49 Analysis of Influence of Vehicle Overload on Reliability of Low-tower Cable Stayed Bridge

Research purposes:With the fast development of China's modernized industry,the phenomenon of vehicle overload becomes popular and it would damage the bridge and weaken the bridge's durability,resulting in reduction of the load bearing capacity of the bridge in different degrees,and even endangering the bridge's safe operation. Taking the low - tower cable stayed bridge as the engineering background,taking the finite element software MIDAS /CIVIL as the analysis means and taking the fatigue reliability theory as the base,the finite element simulation analysis of the influence of the vehicle overload on the load bearing of low - tower cable stayed bridge was made and the research was done on the influence of vehicle overload on the fatigue reliability of the stay cable.
Research conclusions:(1) From the finite element calculation of the stress range and fatigue of the stay cable under the different loads,it can seen the fatigue reliability of stay cable decreases to about 0. 8 under the live load of 120 t.(2) The influence of the overload vehicles on the bridge structure should be fully realized and it should be considered in design to improve safety and enhance the service life of bridge.

54 Construction Technology for Levee Protection of Foundation of Pier 3 of Wuhan Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge

Research purposes:The Pier 3 of Wuhan Yingwuzhou Yangtze River bridge is located in the toe of the river bank in Wuchang with big slope and big and deep foundation pit of cushion cap.The Yangtze River levee will be destroyed and endanger the safety if using the conventional method to conduct the construction of pile foundation and slope excavation. Based on this situation,it’s necessary to do the research on protect ion of the foundation of Pier 3 to find the most economic and effective protective way and calculation method.
Research conclusions:According to the geological condition of the Yingwuzhou Yangtze River bridge,the study was done on the retaining structure. The application of " single row pile in breastwork on the pile top " in protecting the levee for the Pier 3 was the most economic and effective structural pattern. The construction practice showed application of the m method along with the computing method to calculate the bending moment,shearing force,deformation of the section of the fender pile body and the soil pressure on the pile side was scientific and reasonable,and with this method,the safety of pile could be ensured.

58 Analysis of Influencing Factors,Forecasting Methods and Hazard of Water Bursting of Karst Tunnel

Research purposes:There are many calculation methods for the water bursting of tunnel,but there is big gap between the calculation result and the actual water bursting volume,especially there is bigger gap for the anistrope karst tunnel.So it’s necessary to analyze the influencing factors of the water bursting in detail to select the reasonable forecasting method for the purpose of improving the forecasting accuracy and reducing the risk.
Research conclusions:There many factors to influence the prediction of the water bursting.However,the influencing factors can be basically divided into three type: the objective factors,human factors and space-time factors.The karst tunnel is very different from the non-karst tunnel due to its unique characteristics of groundwater. The calculation of the ground water with the dynamics of the laminar flow theory can be used for prediction of the water bursting volume of non -karst tunnel,but it is unavailable for the karst tunnel. The other method should be used for the karst tunnel according to the boundary condition of the tunnel. As the hazard of water bursting of the karst tunnels is big,it is necessary to pay more attention to reducing the influence of the construction on the natural environment by changing the ideas and insisting on the strategy of sustainable development.

62 Application of Drainage Decompression and Grouting Reinforcement Technologies in Construction of Tunnel in Rich Water Fault Zone

Research purposes:At present,for construction of the tunnel in special and complex engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions,there is no reasonable and especial construction plan because the geological condition is not well known and the hazards of confined water are underestimated. Therefore,the water bursting,mud bursting and collapse happen easily during construction because of adopting the traditional construction plan.For construction of the Jiubao Tunnel in rich water fault zone,the drainage decompression was conducted for releasing the confined water ahead.
Research conclusions:( 1) From this practice,it was seen when the water pressure of the main tunnel was controlled to below 0.2 MPa,the follow-up construction could be conducted.The introduction was given to the construction technology of grouting,the relative parameters for the grouting design,the grouting method and the inspection and evaluation of the grouting effect.(2) When the water leakage volume of one hole was between 1.8 ~ 2 L /min and the maximum total water discharge volume of the working face was controlled to 5 ~ 8 m3/ h,the tunnel excavation could be conducted.

67 Fire Protection Design for Development of Platform Above Suzhou Taiping Car Depot

Research purposes:The development of the platform above the car depot can greatly enhance the utilityvalue of land,and it is also the development direction in future. However,there is no existing criterion for this kind of building in China. The research was done on the individual fire protection of the Suzhou Taiping Car Depot,and a reasonable and feasible fire protection design and technological measures were proposed to satisfy the fire protection requirements. It can provide the reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions:From the research on the individual fire protection of the Suzhou Taiping Car Depot,the following points were concluded: (1) The fire protection design of the platform above the Suzhou Taiping Car Depot should considers the general development,the development by the car depot and property development,and some measures should be taken to satisfy the fire protection requirements.(2) The fire protections for the car depot and the property development should be completely separated by using the independent fire control systems with sharing the information in the fire control center.(3) The emergency exits to outdoor or the second floor platform should be installed for high or large building with crowds of people and big risks in the car depot. (4) The second floor platform that meets the requirements of load-bearing,rescue and turning of the large fire engine can be served as an outdoor safety area.(5) The second floor platform can be served as the outdoor ground surface of the building on the second floor according to the current design code for fire protection.

73 Optimal Layout of Landscape Structure of Overhead Contact System in Station of High - speed Railway

Research purposes:The big span steel structure non - platform - column canopy and elevated station building structure are often used for the most stations of high - speed railway.The overhead contact system is an important part of the building structure of the station,and its suspended structure directly influences the overall coordination and aesthetics of the landscape of the station building.Therefore,it is necessary to optimize the layout of the overhead contact system according to the load bearing condition of the structure,the need of traction power supply and the real on - site situation.
Research conclusions:Based on the analysis of the layout of the landscape structure of the overhead contact system in the station of the high - speed railway and on the precise of ensuring the safety and reliability,the optimal schemes for the optimal support structure for the overhead contact system,installation of additional wire,selection of the compensation device and itssubsidiary facilities,interface layout of station building,optimization of the central anchor and color matching of the structure are presented from the areas of lightening the system,shielding some parts of the system and integration with the building structure to improve the overall landscape effect of the station and make the station landscape coordinated with the surrounding environment.This can provide the reference and basis to the similar works.

78 Comparison between Railway Codes and Building Codes in Design of Support Rail Structure

Research purposes: Taking the support rail layer of the Guiyang North Railway Station as an illustration,this paper comparatively analyzes the calculation result with the railway code and the calculaltion result with building code by the probabilistic limit states method and the permissible stresses method from the areas of the comparison of the calculation results with the typical software,the control of the prestress degree of the prestressed beam and the control of the crack of the prestressed beam,and discusses the design method for the structure of the support rail layer of the bridge combined with station building.
Research conclusions:(1) There is no essential conflict between the railway codes and building codes,and the reasonable design of the framed support rail structure can be realized by appropriate control of the prestressing degree of the prestressed support rail beam according the railway codes and the building codes.(2) The calculation should be made according to the bridge codes for control of the crack of the framed support rail beam.

82 Study on Construction of Subsurface Excavated Metro Tunnel Under -passing Existing Railway

Research purposes: Construction of the metro tunnel under - passing the existing railway is related to the railway traffic safety and the metro construction safety. So the more attention is paid to such construction. In this paper,taking one subsurface excavated metro double track tunnel with shallow part as an example,the three - dimensional numerical calculation was made for the designed construction order and construction technology with the ANSYS calculation software,and the analysis was made for the stratum settlement and its distribution.
Research conclusions:The analysis showed the internal force in the stratum caused by the tunnel construction was redistributed and this was the reason for the ground settlement. However,the train load had bigger influence on the ground settlement. The numerical calculation could provide the important basis for selection of the construction measures.If the grouting was conducted to the railway subgrade before construction or the grouting was conducted through the sleeve valve bedded on both sides of the subgrade,the settlement deformation could be controlled.

87 Research on Launching Safety Risk Control in Construction of Metro River -crossing Shield Tunnel

Research purposes: Control of the safety risks of shield machine launching and gong out of the tnnel is a critical process in construction of shield tunnel. For construction of the river - crossing slurry shield tunnel of the Line 2 of Wuhan metro,this paper presents the safety control system for the shield machine launching and going out of the tunnel and analyzes the application effect of the risk control so as to provide the reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions:The rapid,effective and reliable balance between the environment and shield construction parameters can be established by conducting the risk control of the whole process,including the beforehead control,matter control and subsequent control in the construction phrase. In the launching process of the shield machine,the monitoring points should be installed along the vertical axial cord position of tunnel according to the relative standards.During the tunneling of the shield machine,the tracing monitoring should be conducted and the dynamic analysis,the advanced alarm and the feedback should be conducted with the security alarm system for metro construction in order to provide the decision - making basis for adjusting the construction parameters of the launching tunneling section.

Research conclusions:From the research the following points can be seen: (1) The enforcement classification,enforcement subject and legislative authority for the safety of urban rail transit are presented.(2) The enforcement can be divided into three types,namely the engineering enforcement in the protection area,facility protection enforcement and operation order enforcement.(3)The ideal enforcement mode of taking the enforcement cost,the enforcement efficiency and the enforcement effect as the optimal evaluation indexes is given out.

98 Design of Power and Lighting Systems for South Extended Project of Line 1 of Chengdu Metro

Research purposes: The metro power and lighting systems undertake the major task of supplying electrical energy to the various low - voltage electrical load,and they are related to many different specialized trades with complicated interfaces. Combined with the first phase project of the south extended line of the Line 1 of Chengdu metro, the research and discussion were made on the several areas related to design of power and lighting systems and the introduction was given to the setting principle and operation mode of substation,the classification of electric load and the major design principles of power and lighting devices.
Research conclusions:(1) When the length of Metro station is less than 200m,one step - down substation can meet the needs of power distribution,but for the station with narrow platform and being difficult to install the cable bridge or rack,two substations should be built.(2) When calculating the electrical load,the reasonable coefficient should be chosen for the intermittent load according to the operating mode,and some fire equipment loads should not be counted in the total computational load for the scientific choice of transformer capacity.

Research purposes: The concrete slab structure is widely used in the lining structure of railway and highway tunnels.Under the long-term pressure and load of the surrounding rock of tunnel,the concrete slab structure is often deformed and destructed to endanger the safe operation. The test and research were done on the characteristics of the deformation and damage of the concrete slab structure to forecast the possibility of accidents and provide the in - situ monitoring and prediction way to guarantee the safe service of the structure.
Research conclusions:The test results show that application of the time series analysis method can achieve the high precision of predicting the concrete slab deformation with the linear fitting correlation coefficients of more than 0.93 in all measuring points and the prediction error of less than 10% . So,this forecast model is available and can be used as an effective method for monitoring the lining structure of tunnel.
