1 Discussion on Control Value of Bearing Capacity of F lexible Embankment Foundation
WEI Yong- xing, XUE Xin-hua
Research purposes:At present, there is no concrete specification stipulated in the relative codes issued by railway and highway authorities in China and this results in the sampling value of the bearing capacity in design of railway project is somewhat conservative. Therefore, the study on the control value of bearing capacity of flexible embankment foundation has the great engineering and theoretical significance.
Research conclusions:From the statistical analysis and study on the measured bearing capacity of the soft subgrade of Suinning-Chongqing Railway, it is concluded that the reinforcement and design of general flexible foundation, such as embankment and field plateau, should consider the three aspects, namely embankment stability, post- construction settlement and subgrade bearing capacity, and the allowable bearing capacity value of flexible foundation can be in properly wider range under the premise of meeting the requirements of stability and post-construction settlement. The checking formula and the suggestions to correction coefficient of bearing capacity of flexible foundation are also given preliminarily.

TAN Qu-lin, WEI Qing-chao, YANG Song-lin
Research purposes:It is very important to monitor the subsidence of subgrade in permafrost region because the permafrost is unstable , but it is difficult to monitor the subsidence of the subgrade in permafrost region using the current ground measuring device due to the extremely bad environmental conditions. The satellite differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar technology(D-InSAR) is an innovative measurement method developed rapidly in recent years. This approach can cover and measure a region of hundreds of square kilometers without on-site fieldwork. The subsidence information of point, profile and surface can be acquired and analyzed using this method. In the paper, the necessity, feasibility and significance of monitoring the subsidence o f subgrade in permafrost region using satellite D-InSAR technology are discussed.
Research conclusions:Under extremely difficult natural geographic condition, using the satellite D-InSAR technology to monitor the subsidence of the subgrade in permafrost region is essential to improve the working condition, enhancing the monitoring efficiency, reducing the monitoring cost and manualm on itoring work in difficult area as much as possible and to the construction of the long-term monitoring system for the infrastructure in permafrost region. Using the unique, continuous subsidence information of point, profile and surface obtained from the satellite D-InSAR can analyze the spatial characteristics and regulation of the subgrade deformation in permafrost region from the angles o f points, profiles and surface in the wide range and can help obtain the new discovery or new know ledge about subgrade subsidence in permafrost region through the analysis from the spatial angle. These can provide the new basis for evaluation of the stability of the subgrade in permafrost region and open the new thought on further researching the engineering deformation in permafrost region.

14 Analyses of the Sensitivity of Surrounding Rock Parameters to the Convergence of Measuring Line during Construction
DU Yu-dong
Research purposes:The construction period of underground engineering is the worst time in safety . In order to ensure the structure safety, choosing the appropriate reinforcement method for the surrounding rock is one of issues paid attention by the engineers. So the sensitivity of the surrounding rock parameters is the key point to the structure safety. With the ANSYS program and theoretical simulation of Monte-carlo random finite element, the excavation processes with advanced releasing multi-layer coupling stress method and layer reversed excavation method are calculated to the large sectional underground cavity of Hainan Project. During the excavation, the statistic analyses are made to every arrangement of the measuring lines and the convergence of the measuring line, the comparisons are made to the influence of surrounding rock parameters on the convergence of every measuring line, and through comparison of the sensitivity of very measuring line to the surrounding rock parameters, the key factors in fluencing the convergence of the underg round cavity are summarized.
Research conclusions:The rock soil parameters influencing the convergence of the verticalm easuring line in order from big to small are deformation modulus, the poisson's ratio, the internal friction and the cohesive strength, but for the horizontal measuring lines are the poissons' ratio, the modulus, the internal friction and the cohesive strength.

20 Research on the Stressing Situation of Thin-Wall Cylindrical Pile for Reinforcing Soft Foundation of Taizhou Railway Station
CHENG Wen-Yu
Research purposes:Cast-in-situ concrete thin-wall cylindrical pile is a new technique for reinforcing soft foundation and it was used for the soft foundation of the Taizhou Railway Station, which was the first time to use it for reinforcing the soft foundation of railway in China. The two monitoring sections were chosen to do in-situ tests, namely one section with cover plate and another with no cover plate. The stressing situation in reinforcing the soft foundation of the two section is analyzed according to the monitored data obtained from soil pressure meter and hole pressure meter and the stressing law in reinforcing the soft foundation with thin-wall cylindrical pile is discovered.
Research conclusions:The cylindrical pile bears the most load of the composite subgrade of thin-wall cylindrical pile and its stressing is mainly from side frictional force. After the cover plate is added to the cylindrical pile, the cylindrical pile can give full play to bearing load. The stressing of soil around cylindrical pile is related to the effective area, and its stress ratio increases with the increase of the load. Application of thin wall cylindrical pile can prevent the soft foundation from lateral distortion by compacting earth. As the anti-horizontal capacity of cylindrical pile’s composite subgrade is good and the anti-side slipping capacity is perfect, the embankment area of high road is good at anti-sliding. The piling quality of the thin-wall cylindrical pile is stable, the single pile’s bearing capacity is good, and the composite foundation has a good bearing capacity of complex piles foundation. The distortion of cylindrical pile is less, especially the post-construction subsidence is small. The strength and rigidity of the reinforced soft foundation are much improved.

24 Application of Vacuum-heaped Load Preloading Technology in Treating Soft Subgrade in Experimental Section
SONG Shang-ming
Research purposes:Based on one example of application of the vacuum-heaped load preloading technology in treating soft subgrade in the experimental section, the introduction is given to the key points of this construction technology and the discussion is made on the method for the settlement estimation.
Research conclusions:During treating the soft subgrade with vacuum-heaped load preloading, it is necessary to follow the principle of guaranteeing good permeability of drainage system and air tightness of vacuum system, and control the construction quality of sand bedding, plastic drainage board, pipe network, sealing membrane, sealing grove and vacuum pump. From verification, it is found the calculated results with the commonly used "equivalent load methods" are different from the actualmeasured results to some extent, and from the analysis, it is thought the main reasons for the differences between the calculated results and the actually measured results are the vertically transferred depth of the vacuum degree and the lateral deformation of soil were not considered. How to accurately consider these two factors needs to be further discussed.

42 Analysis of Stress Concentration of a Little Spacing Shallow and Subsurface Excavated Tunnel
YANG Hui-jun, LIU Hong-yang
Research purposes:In the course of subsurface excavation of a little spacing tunnel, the stress concentration of the soil mass between adjacent pilot tunnels influences the safety of the soil mass between two tunnels, the construction of the subsequent tunnel and the previous tunnel, even damages the surrounding buildings and underground pipe line. Therefore, analysis of the stress concentration of a little spacing shallow and subsurface excavated tunnel is very important to ensure the construction security.
Research conclusions:In the paper, combined with the subsurface excavation of a little spacing group tunnels at Xuanwumen Station, the stress concentration is analyzed on the basis of monitored and measured data, the stress strain effects of the soil mass between two tunnels during the construction of a little spacing tunnel is quantified, and the settlement regulation of the soilmass and the change characteristics of soil pressure are also analyzed. The results show (1) The settlement at the center of soilmass between two tunnels is up to-14. 8mm, being 1.1~2 times of other areas. The relation between soil settlement and soil pressure is identical with the theoretical analysis. This shows the obvious stress concentration happens at this place. (2) The subsequent tunnel slightly affects the previous tunnel in tension. At the same time, according to the distance between working face and monitoring site, the stages of earth settlement and earth pressure are divided to provide the basis for taking measures for reducing the stress concentration.

HUANG Sheng-ping, JIANG Chang-qing, WU Duo-yun
Research purposes:As the span of continuous arch tunnel is big, in order to avoid the deep excavation and filling in the inclined area of the side slope at the tunnel opening and protect the natural environment, the subsurface excavation structure is adop ted on the deep buried side, the subgrade is built on the shallow buried side, and the ear wall is built on the middle part, which can stand the pushing force of the side slope, be as the side wall of tunnel and connected with the middle wall. Such structural type is part-tunnel and part-roadbed type. The part-tunnel and part-roadbed type tunnel is fresh in style, difficult in construction and comp licated in stressing, so it is necessary to do the research on the mechanics behavior in construction of this tunnel with numerical analysis and in-situ test.
Research conclusions:After excavation of the blind tunnel, large tensile stress happened to the surrounding rock on the right side of the foundation bottom of the ear wall to form a arc sliding zone. In construction, the foundation bottom of the ear wall was reinforced by anchor and grouting. Large tensile stress happened to the 8.5 m high area on the outside of the ear wall, but was smaller than the tensile design value of the concrete. The actual measurement showed the level disp lacement of the ear wall was small and the strength and stability of the ear wall were in the safe range. The stressing of the support structure for the blind tunnel was small and the stress of the secondary lining changed a little after completion of construction. All these showed the reinforcement of the side slope on left side before construction obtainedgood effect and verified the design and construction of this tunnel were reasonable and could be as the reference to the similar works.

YUAN Ren-ai, DU Qiang, LUO Tian-lang
Research purposes:The Silo 3 of Liuyanghe Tunnel of Wuchang - Guangzhou Passenger Dedicated Line is about 51.03 m deep and the length of the construction area of silo 3 is about 1.5 km. The high measurement accuracy is required for linking up the two ends of the silo with the inclined shaft and exit separately due to small silo portal. Using one - shaft orientation or two - shaft orientation method, it is hard to operate with low measurement accuracy. In order to through connect the whole Wuchang - Guangzhou Passenger Dedicated line, the connectional measurement plan for the silo should be determined in accordance with the local geographical condition and the structural feature of the silo for smooth construction of the silo with high accuracy.
Research conclusions:Through comparison, it is determined to conduct the measurement jointly with lead - hammer meter and gyro. The measuring principle and procedure of this method are described. The directional measuring number of gyro is at lease not less than three times. Before doing so, the ground control net should be measured closely and at the same time one known side on ground should be chosen to measure the position angle between it and gyro. This position angle should be compared with the inversely calculated position angle and its measurement accuracy should be verified. The measurement result after the through connection of the line shows the measurement accuracy can meet the requirement of large section tunnel construction of passenger dedicated line.
