Statistics Analysis of Physical and Mechanic Parameters about Red Clay along Passenger Dedicated Line
YANG Guo-lin, WANG Liang-liang
Research purposes:Passenger dedicated line requires a strict deformation control, but the test results of the physical and mechanic parameters about original red clay along Wuchang-Guangzhou Dedicated Line have the large discreteness. The values of parameters used in design will cause a direct impact on the construction quality and cost, meanwhile the relevance among parameters increases the complexity for the analysis of problem. In order to make an evaluation of the red clay, the statistic analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis have made with the theory of multivariate statistical analysis and statistical software SPSS.
Research conclusions:Through statistic analysis, the means and 95% confidence interval of each parameter are obtained. It is suggest that means should be used in design, except the complex geological conditions, or special sections. The hierarchical cluster analysis indicates the property of red clay can be divided into three parts, namely the structure, strength and status, and the principal component analysis indicates that the values obtained from principal component analysis can be used to assess the possibility of red clay for road.

HU Rong-guang
Research purposes:The subgrade deformation of high-speed railway must be controlled very strictly because of the high train speed on the railway and high technical standard required by the railway. Since many factors synthetically contribute to the deformation, so it is very important to synthetically and accurately analyze the factors involved and predict the time series law to the subgrade settlement.
Research conclusions:The multivariate nonlinear regression equation is established with the foundation of layer-summation method to illustrate the eternal relations among the time, settlement deformation, filling height, elastic modulus, and thickness of the compressed layer. Whats' more, the methods of multiple non-linear regression analysis of the time series data are given, and the applications show the methods can be wide used.

Study on the Integrated Transportation Hubs Plan for Hangzhou East Railway Station
PENG Ju-cai, YAO Yao
Research purposes:With the development of high-speed railway in china, the design of high-speed railway and integrated transportation hubs has become an important issue in the traffic field, but there is a little experience about the planning and designing the integrated transportation hubs in China. Through studying the four international biddings for the integrated transportation hub for Hangzhou East Railway Station, this paper analyzes the characteristics of each bidding, probes into the final plan for the hub. The planning concept and design method used in the hub can offer the useful reference to planning and designing the large -scale integrated transportation hubs in China.
Research conclusions:Planning concept on the railway transportation hub should be changed from "single -direction, closure and intersection" to "multiple -direction, open and connection". In order to purify the traffic around the station, the different level and different purpose traffics should be separated. For achieving the target of "zero interchange" among the different transportation modes, the modern modes such as establishing multiple-layer and vertical transportation system should be comprehensively adopted.

Analysis of the Layout of Curbside Alighting Area in Front of Major Railway Passenger Station
HU Ming-wei
Research purposes:For better design of the curbside alighting areas in front of major railway passenger stations, a two-step modeling methodology is proposed to the layout of the alighting areas. Namely the queue theory is used to estimate the quantities of alighting passages macroscopically and a traffic simulation model is used for the details of layout microscopically.
Research conclusions:With the M/M/N queue theory, the quantities of the alighting passages are estimated and the parameters are effectively calculated macroscopically, including the average queue length and waiting time. With the traffic simulation model built by the VISSIM software, the layout details such as lane assignment are determined. The model supports both two -dimensional and three-dimensional visual evaluation through graphical interface and animation. Moreover, the output data such as average speed and delay are used for quantitative comparison between the different schemes. The estimation also can be made whether the design can meet future traffic demand or not. The application of this method in the new Shenzhen Railway Station demonstrates that this method has the visual and quantitative features.

Numerical Similation for Construction of Metro Shield Tunnel Under crossing Jinjiang Bridge
LAN Yu, FANG Yong, DUAN Shao-he,ZHONG Shan
Research purposes:For construction of metro shield tunnel, three dimensional finite element methods is applied to analysis the influence of shield tunnel construction on pier displacement and structure internal force of neighbor arch bridge. The results are compared with that under condition of no ground reinforcement, and the effect of ground reinforcement with rotary jet pile is proved.
Research conclusions:Under condition of no ground reinforcement, tunnel construction will effect the structure internal force and produce pier settlement much. After the ground is reinforced, the largest settlement and differential settlement of pier are reduced 38 percent and 44 percent resectively compared with that of no reinforcement. At the same time, the internal force of arch bridge is reduced dramatically. Compared with no reinforcement, structure internal force is decreased 25 percent to 40 percent. The spiral jet pile reinforcement method can ensure the safety of arch bridge in the course of shield tunnel construction.

Analysis of Optimal Design for Deep Foundation Pit with Single-factor
YANG Jiang, PENG Jia-qiang, ZHOU Qi-hui, LU Ci-rong
Research purposes:Deep foundation pit construction involves many factors and among which the inter-relationships are complicated, so it is necessary to do the research on seeking a money-saving bracing system with rational structure for rapid reconstruction.
Research conclusions:Combined with a special subway excavation project, this paper analyzes the guard pile stiffness as support system, support stiffness and embedded depth of guard pile for foundation pit with single-factor analysis based on the simulation analysis. It concludes: (1)The deformation of exterior-protected construction can be reduced and the stability of foundation pit can be enhanced through improving the guard pile stiffness and support stiffness. However, if the stiffness is too much, the axial force becomes big, resulting in the support unstable and damaged and increase of the construction cost. (2)The depth of guard pile should be controlled in the range from 1.2 h to 1.4 h. If the embedded depth is less, the deformation of the pile becomes large, resulting in the foundation pit damage. If the embedded depth is too much, the effect on deformation control is not obvious, resulting in increase of the construction cost. (3) After Optimization of the pile diameter, the deformation control can meet the requirement of ground subsidence and the construction cost can be lowered much under the effect of guard pile with diameter of Φ 800.

Research on the Deformation Law of Supporting Structure for Deep Foundation Pit of Metro Station
REN Jian-xi, FENG Xiao-guang, LIU Hui, QIN Xing-chun
Research purposes:Taking deep excavation engineering in the north region of Forest Station on the Olympic branch line of Beijing Subway as an example, the deformation law of enclosure structure for deep foundation pit is studied by the in-site monitoring means for the purpose of providing the reference to optimizing the design and construction of similar engineering.
Research conclusions:The maximal horizontal displacement of retaining pile is closely related with excavation depth and time. The horizontal displacement of the pile tops is the biggest when the deep foundation pit is excavated to a certain depth and steel brace has not been erected. With excavation of foundation and erection of the steel brace, the location of the biggest horizontal displacement shifts down. With increase of steel brace, the steel axis force decrease, so steel brace can effectively control horizontal displacements of retaining pile and internal force of steel in the pile. In addition, temperature has a certain effect on the axis force of steel brace.

Research on the Effect of General Contracting on Construction Project Period—Taking the House—building Project as an Example 英文作者
WEI Zhong-xin,GUAN Bai-hai
Research purposes:Compared with the traditional construction organization mode, the mode of general contracting has the advantages of reducing the total construction cost and shortening the total construction project period. Taking the house-building project as an example, this paper studies the effect of general contracting on the project period.
Research conclusions:First of all, the project is decompounded on the first level framework, and the superposition of design and construction under the general contracting mode is analyzed from the angel of fast procurement. Then network diagrams under two modes are drawn. After comparing the Diagrams, it is found the project period can be shortened much by combining the design with construction well under the D-B mode. For instance, through calculation, the construction period of one project under D-B mode can be 92 days less than that under DBB mode, which is 15% of total construction period.

Research on the Prediction of Project Cost in Bidding Stage Based on New Bill Quantity of Construction Works
LV Tie-sheng
Research purposes:The Chinese project valuation is in line with the international conventions gradually. Those unseasonable and uneasy to be followed terms and tabular formats have been revised in newly revised and implemented 2008 Valuation Code with Bill Quantity for Construction Works. In particular, the contents of how to prepare tender offer with bill quantity pricing and how to share the risks are added. This sets an even higher demands on construction enterprises in conducting the project cost prediction. However the currently common-used cost prediction method could not meet the development need completely, so the new method should be sought.
Research conclusions:Based on the international and domestic project valuations and the new demands of cost prediction, five methods for cost prediction in quantum are summed up, a program is designed for the cost prediction, and the new thoughts is presented on using the different methods for the projects with different composing elements. The verification shows the cost prediction methods presented in this paper can predict the project cost accurately and timely with a good applicable value.

Analysis of Construction Cost Management in China and Foreign Countries
XIANG Chun
Research purposes:Based on learning the advanced experience of foreign countries in construction cost management and in accordance with the real situation in China, this paper offers the relative measures for control of the railway construction cost to achieve the goal of "High efficiency and low cost".
Research conclusions:The following measures can be taken for control of railway construction cost: (1)The control of construction cost should be strengthened in design stage. (2)The active control of construction cost should be done, and the relation between technology and construction cost should be dealt with well through making economic and technical analyses and evaluations. (3)The life cycle cost of the project should be lowered, and the project investment scale should be controlled strictly to avoid unnecessary waste. (4) The legal person's responsibility system should be implemented. The legal person is responsible for the entire process from the project planning to funds collection, construction operation, paying the debt and value-keeping and value-increasing of assets. (5)The bidding system and supervision system should be implemented well, and the competition system should be introduced in the project management to choose highly qualified construction and supervision enterprises by establishing a set of relative systems. In addition, the contract management should be strengthened.

Safe Management of the Blast Adjacent to Infrastructure
YAN Qian-yin
Research purposes:With the blasting work for the phase 3 project of the special railway line to Xiabaipo Power Plan,t this paper tries to explain that the current concept on absolute safety can not ensure the safety of the blasting operation closely adjacent to the important infrastructures. For the safety, the systematic planning should be worked out and the safety measure should be taken.
Research conclusions:When the blasting work is carried out closely adjacent to the infrastructures like the railways, the safety management based on risks does not fit to current construction environment due to its lack of operability on the sites. The contractors are usually the creators of hazards, so the plans of disaster prevention is not only made in the bidding stage, but the most importance is to make it implemented in the construction phases. Only if the clients, the contractors and the owners of the infrastructures jointly undertake the obligation and responsibilities to work out and implement the plan of disaster prevention, can the occurrence of disaster be avoided and quick recovery from the disasters be realized.
