1 The Geotechnical Engineering Investigation of Tianjin Traffic Transfer Junction Center

Research purposes: The Tianjin traffic transfer junction center station is a large and deep pit with complicated engineering structure, geological condition and environmental condition. Adopting appropriate investigation methods, supplying reasonable design parameters and providing scientific geotechnical engineering evaluation and suggestions are important parts of the conjunction construction.
Research results: By complex exploration methods, which including geological drilling, in-situ measurement and soil tests in or out doors, the engineering geological condition and hydro-geological condition is found out and the parameters of the site soil and water are provided. The engineering problems such as stability and feasibility of the site, the style of pit-supporting structure , expanding and piping of pit bottom , anti-floating of the structure, controlling measures of dewatering and so on are analyzed and estimated, and pertinent engineering suggestions are provided as well, which offers scientific basis for the engineering design and construction.

6 The Design of Disaster Prevention System for High-speed Railway

Research purposes : Disaster protection for high-speed railway is a new issue faced in Chinese railway construction. This paper classifies the disasters that may damage the railway according to the needs of railway construction, demonstrates the preventive measures for the disasters and discusses the disaster prevention system based on studying the relevant foreign technology.
Research conclusions: According to the characteristic of the Chinese high-speed railway , the real-time requirement of the disasters information is very important to reduce railway loss in disaster. So Chinese prevention system should be established on the basis of Chinese railway traffic characteristics so as to define the monitored information on disaster and upon which the train must be directly controlled. The other information on disasters can be confirmed and handled by the dispatchers. The disaster monitoring system can be integrated as a main part of the station comprehensive monitoring system , and the other assistant monitoring systems of nature disasters , axle temperature , fire , emergency , alien invasion can be integrated as a whole.

10 Discussion on the Planning System of Region Railway Network

Research purposes: The purposes are to elaborate the planning system of region railway network, then introduce the analysis system, stage requirement and the problem that needs to notice in actual application of composition modulars.
Research conclusions: The planning system of region railway network contains five major composition modulars, including the research of planning background,analyzing of transportation demand, research of layout scheme, appraisement of program effect and scheme of plan enforcement. The research of planning background is the prerequisite of region railway network; The analyzing of transportation demand is the foundation; The research of layout scheme is the core of region railway network; The praisement of program effect is the inspection; The scheme of plan enforcement is the deepen of region railway network.

15 Necessity of Constructing Handan ( Xingtai)-Huanghua Railway

Research conclusions : Construction of Handan ( Xingtai)-Huanghua Railway will open a convenient channel to the sea and is useful for reducing industry costs, developing Heilonggang area in Hebei province, providing a channel of centralizing and decentralizing goads for Huanghua Port and access to sea from Heshun area and Zuoquan area of Central Shanxi, enhancing the flexibility of railway transportation organization and improving the accessibility of the railway network.

20 Study on the Transport Division of Railway and Ship for Transportation of Coals from Main Coal Bases in China

Research purposes: With.the large increase of transport capacity of the north-south railway corridor, it is important to choose combined railway-ship transport or through train of transporting the coal from north to south for prediction of railway traffic volume. The study is done in this paper on finding a reasonable area and division of these two modes of transporting coal.
Research conclusions: For transporting the coals of the six major coal bases,it is economical to transport the coals from Shendong, south Shanxi and north Shaanxi to the South China and East China by combined railway-ship transport and to transport the coal from east Shanxi and Huanglong to South China and East China by through train, and for transporting the coal from central Shanxi,it is economical to transport it to the coastal cities between Fuzhou and Shantou by combined rail and ship transport and to the places the coal should be transported by through train.

24 A Theoretical Solution of the Most Disadvantageous Circular Sliding Surface and Its Stability Coefficient for Soil Slide Slope

Research purposes: The accurate formula of the stability coefficient F, and the circular parameters xa ,yo , r of a circular land-sliding surface have been obtained from the Sweden circular slice method. There is an incomparable advantage compared to the traditional method.
Research conclusions: The formula of coefficient of stability F, is recovered by introducing two parameters L and s of controlling arc position and simplifying the integral sum. This computing method is simple and easy with the result closing to the results made from other methods. With this method, a reliable resolution of one side slope given parameters can be obtained in a few seconds, so this method has real significance and is worth adopting widely.

28 Discussion on and Comparison of the Treatment Schemes for Side Slope of Soft Soil Cutting

Research purposes: Taking the design and construction of one side slope of the soft soil cutting on a new railway , the optimum scheme is presented through making discussion and Comparison of the merits and demerits of three schemes in the fields of economy, technology and construction for the purpose of providing reference to the similar project design and construction.
Research conclusions : Among the three schemes , the scheme of pile-sheet retaining wall is the best one for treating this side slope of soft soil cutting with the features of easier construction, the beautiful exterior structure, no limitation of the ground bearing capacity, less occupation of land and less disturbance to the undisturbed soil. Practice proved that the principle of money saving, security and practical application should be adopted to the treatment scheme according to the groundwater, distribution of soft soil, depth of cutting and ground bearing capacity.

32 Numerical Simulation Study on the Influence of Extremely Deep Pit Bracing and Excavation on Soil Deformation

Research purposes: The studies are done on the soil displacement, distribution of soil surface settlement, timbering structure displacement and stress variety caused by bracing and excavation of extremely deep pit with theoretical analysis and numerical simulation methods for the purpose of mastering the simulation method of timbering structure deformation and soil settlement caused by pit excavation to direct the design work.
Research results: The study results indicate that based on the computation, the maximum surface settlement is 28. 7 mm when the excavation was finished and the bottom floor was constructed. The measured surface settlement is 28.46 mm during the construction, which is closed to that by computation, so the result of the research can be used for directing the design.

36 Thoughts on Waterproofing and Drainage System of Subgrade Engineering concerning Ballastless Track of Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: The establishment and key technical index or parameter has been studied for waterproofing and drainage system of subgrade engineering concerning ballastless track of passenger dedicated railway line and the preliminary frame and technical characteristics have been put forward of waterproofing and drainage system of subgrade engineering concerning ballastless track of passenger dedicated railway line in China.
Research conclusions: The establishment of waterproofing and drainage system of subgrade engineering concerning ballastless track of passenger dedicated railway line has been put forward as well as four key technical problems which need to be further studied and resolved have been pointed out such as detection standard for water stability of subgrade filling, technical condition for asphalt concrete waterproof Layer of subgrade surface, subdrainage stmcture and its maintenance and system optimization of waterproofing and drainage system for subgrade.

39 Research on the Effect on DJM Pile in Strengthening Soft Foundation by Loading Test

Research purposes: Using loading test on the DJM pile in strengthening soft foundation, the research and analysis are made on the stress mechanism of the pile and soil.
Research conclusions: The loading test shows that the settlement of the soil between piles is larger than that on the top of the pile, the stress of the filling load transfers from the soil to the pile and the pile-soil stress ratio increases. The damage mode of the composite ground under flexible foundation is that the soil between the piles is damaged first and then results in the damage of whole composite foundation.

43 Test and Analysis of the Dynamic Stress of CA Mortar near Culvert on the Sui-Yu Ballastless Track Railway

Research purposes: This paper studies the operation security of the ballastless track further and accumulates data for researching the dynamics characteristics of the ballastless track subgrade-culvert transition. The MOR organized the comprehensive field test on Suining-Chongqing Railway ballasdess track.
Research conclusions: Since the multiple units has the characteristics of light axle load,good performances of vehicle vibration, the CA mortar dynamic stress of it is relatively smaller than that of the heavy haul freight train, and the dynamic role to the railway of the multiple units is relatively not significant. In comparison, the influence of the axle weight is larger than the speed. The axle weight and speed does not impact on the distribution rule of the transition dynamic stress in the direction of the railway line.

48 Analysis and Study on the Construction Technology for Embankment in Permafrost Zone of Qinghai-Tibet Railway

Research purposes: The summaries are made on the construction technology for embankment in permafrost zone of Qinghai-Tibet Railway based on analyzing and studying the working principle, construction methods, measure for ensuring construction quality and actual effect of construction technology of slice stone air-cooled embankment, thermal probe embankment, ventilation pipe embankment in permafrost area of Qinghai-Tibet Railway for the purpose of providing technical support to embankment construction in permafrost zone.
Research conclusions: The applicable scopes of different construction technologies in permafrost zone are defined after analysis in order to select rational construction technology. Thermal probe embankment with wide top is not suitable to adopt in the permafrost zone in which warm season is longer. Ventilation pipe embankment relates to wind direction , but now it is difficult for us to define wind direction, so it suggests to less adopt it as much as possible. The more attention should be paid to the quality of stone and prevention of surface water entering into slice stone air-cooled embankment and it is advised that bridge substitutes for deep embankment.

52 Experimental Research on the Fatigue Rigidity of RC Beams Reinforced by CFRP Sheets

Research purposes : Concrete structure reinforced with carbon fiber plastic sheet(CFS ) is a new retrofit method in the field of civil engineering. The CFRP-sheet is effective for the improvement of fatigue performance of RC beams, which can prolong the service life of damaged concrete structure.
Research results : Concrete beam's stress-strain under fatigue loading should fit to the assumption of that on the plane and section. Specimens' fatigue flexural rigidity reduces gradually, resulting in enlarging the cracks. The discussion is also made on the calculation methods and formulas for the rigidity of highly strengthened concrete beams under fatigue load and the calculation results conform to the experimental results.

56 Test and Analyses of Bracing Stress on Sand Loess Stratum for Hanguguan Tunnel

Research purposes: Based on the characteristics of primary bracing stress and its deformation during the excavation of tunnel, the researches are done on the bracing rationality for sand loess tunnel and the rational bracing measures are presented for the purpose of overcoming the problem in construction of large sectional sand loess Hanguguan Tunnel.
Research conclusions : The tests and analyses of the bracing deformation , inner force , bracing stress characteristics of deep-buried large sectional sand loess tunnel show adopting large section steel frame along with the primary bracing of fiber concrete is an effective way for control of soil deformation and ensuring the construction safety to the large sectional sand loess tunnel.

61 The Design of the Hangar Tunnel of High-speed Railway

Research purposes: The clearance sections, spans, span numbers,loads and detail sizes of hangar tunnel are studied to find out the controlling factors and characteristics of the internal forces of hangar tunnel, including the characteristics of the distributed steel for the purposes of getting the best design parameters to achieve safety,practical appliance and money saving.
Research conclusions: With consideration of the feasibility of the torsion of the transversal beams, the hangar tunnel will calculated as plane structure and the design parameters of it are mainly controlled by reducing the temperature of 25 Centigrade. The distributed steel for the hangar tunnel is determined by crack-resistance capacity and the steel for the posts is determined by load-carrying capacity. Some transversal beams need taking the torque effects into account. The design gradient of backfill is the crucial factor for the calculation of the internal wall. The stress of the bottom of the foundations is controlled by the buried-depth of three meters. When the span is six meters, there is less work for two-span hangar tunnel, so it suggests adopting the two-span hangar tunnel with span of six meters.

67 Research on the Non-crossing Layout Mode of OCS in Turnout 18# Zone of Passenger Dedicated Line

Research purposes: In order to match the construction of Shijiazhung-Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line, the researches are done on the non-layout mode of OCS in turnout 18" zone based on introducing, digesting and absorbing the foreign advanced technologies for the purpose of providing the technical support to construction of Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Passenger Dedicated Line.
Research conclusions: Simple non-crossing mode is easy to arrange and fix because the system has no crossing between OCS' on main line and sideline. In this mode, the guiding OCS is between main line and sideline and contacts the pantograph all along in turnout center area, so the pantograph can transit from sideline to main line or from main to sideline, the impulsion to OCS on main line can be reduced and there is no off-normal abrasion in guiding OCS. The non-crossing with guiding catenary mode is adaptive to high-speed railway with feature of better performance of current collection between pantograph and catenary. It is used in China for the first time and should be adopted widely in passenger dedicated line.

71 Research on the Performance of Cable-Arch Structure of New Guangzhou Railway Station

Research purposes: The main structure form of the roof of New Guangzhou Railway Station is inner cable-arch structure, so the researches are done on it for the purposes of getting more knowledge about the stress performance of cable-arch structure to provide the basis for construction and design.
Research conclusions: If the support of cable-arch structure is elastic, the distance from the cable to the arch is equal to 0. 6H and section of arch is杯50 x 25,the cable-arch structure has a better comprehensive mechanical performance, and there is little influence on the mechanical property of cable-arch structure when choosing two different cables. Properly increasing the initial tension is beneficial to the mechanical property of cable-arch structure under upward loading. In a word, the mechanical property of cable-arch structure under downward loading is reasonable. But if the loading is upward, the bending stress of the arch becomes large and the horizontal reacting force on the support increases, resulting in the deformation of cable-arch becoming large and the cable relaxing. However, it can be controlled with more reasonable support type or increasing the initial tension.

76 The Architectural Design of Newly-built North Building of Tianjin Station

Research purposes:The introduction is given to the building design contents of the Newly-built North building of Tianjin Railway Station and the studies are done on how the new building to match the original south building in elevation sculpt and outdoor and indoor decoration while having the times style.
Research results: In the outdoor and indoor decoration, the glass, stones materials and metal louver are adopted, which makes the north building even more modern style and integration of new one with the old one perfectly with railway char- acteristics of new times.

80 Calculation and Design of the Canopy of Shanghai Southern Railway Station

Research purposes: The platform canopy is one of the main components of Shanghai South Railway Station , the first railway station in the 21st century. In this paper, the discussion is made on the possibility of releasing the thermal deformation of the super-long steel structure of Shanghai South Railway Station platform canopy, and the hinged joints of tree-shaped columns are optimized to make its indexes meeting the design requirements for the purpose of obtaining the best architectural effects.
Research conclusions : The new conception of temperature deformation joints in the high stress area of the super-long steel structure is put forward based on the analysis of the special environment of Shanghai South Railway Station platform canopy. The structures are continuous and beautiful by doing so. The joint's beautification design was realized by the theoretical analysis and experimental verification.

84 Design of Large-span Purlin for Platform Canopy without Post of Beijing Railway Station

Research purposes: The posts of station platform will be installed between tracks, which can make the platform more open and bright and provide comforts to the passengers and reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions : Adopting the H-beam light solid consecutive purlin and long cantilever purlin structure are the effective ways to lower the structure weight and roof thickness, reduce deflection and inter-bending and realize the large-span. Providing horizontal support to purlin is the effective measure for guaranteeing purlin plane stability.

89 Selection and Analysis of Bearing Stratum of Pile Foundation for High Building

Research purposes: Taking the high building of Hongqiao Railway Station of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway for example,the summary and analysis of pile types and possible bearing stratums of pile foundations are made in combination with Chinese codes and geology conditions for the purpose of better choice of bearing stratum.
Research conclusions :(1)The distribution regularity of soil is important to select the bearing stratum of the pile foundation. (2 ) The analysis and verification are needed to decide that the soil can be used as the bearing stratum of pile foundation by checking the vertical bearing of individual pile, total settlements volume and the feasibility of pile、 formation. ( 3 ) The Testing pile should be done before formal construction.

93 Discussion on Connection Mode of Intercity Railway with Other Traffic Modes within Mianyang-Chengdu-Leshan Corridor

Research purposes: This paper analyzes the passenger transportation demand of Mianyang-Chengdu-Leshan corridor and discusses the connection mode of intercity railway with other traffic modes.
Research conclusions: Through the analysis of technical features and passenger flow of the main traffic modes within Mianyang-Chengdu-Leshan corridor, the connection mode should be established for the different transport modes. In order to fully play the function and benefit of intercity railway, the following two points should be considered for the connecting intercity railway with other traffic modes in corridor; passenger transfer connection and transport organization connection for obtaining the aims of sharing and rational usage of resource. The station location of intercity railway should be selected according to the layout of urban rail transit planning, existing public transportation, bus stop and airport. The intercity railway station should be closed to urban rail transit station, bus stop, coach station and airport as much as possible. The study of traffic integration should be done well so that the intercity railway passenger can take urban public transportation easily and the peak passenger flow of intercity railway bypassed.

98 Research on Application of Enclosed Lifting Device for Sewage in Metro

Research purposes: The sewage from the toilet in underground building often needs to be drained into the municipal drainage system through sewage pump. During the drainage process, the sewage often gives off the peculiar smell which hazards environment. In this paper, the introduction is given to the application of enclosed lifting device for sewage in metro and the calculation method, difficult points and countermeasure for it are presented for the purpose of providing the reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions: It is feasible to apply the enclosed lifting device for sewage in metro, which can improve the environments of metro and underground buildings with perfect social and economic benefits.

101 Study of Metro Depot Train Test Line Function and Design Requirements

Research purposes: The train test line in metro depot is used for train dynamic debugging and test. New trains and the repaired trains must be debugged and tested on the test line before service operation. The test line should be proper on the length,curve radius,grade , etc , but that is difficult to get , as the restricting of area. It should be emphasis that determine of function requirements and optimizing scheme of test line on the design of metro depot.
Research conclusions: The test line in metro depot is necessary and important to ensure safety and reliability of train operation. The teat line should be designed to meet the highest operation velocity test if site is available. When the site area is restricted, we should propose to determine the test line design standard according to the class of depot, and necessary high velocity teat can be carried out on main line.

106 Research on the Planning of Regional Logistics System in West Region

Research purposes : Region logistics planning is the blueprint and action guide of regional logistics development. The rationalization research of region logistics achieves the goal of improving the support dynamics to the regional economic development, and improving the competitiveness of the whole city group. The research to the theory and method of regional logistics planning is exactly the trend of logistics theoretical research and development in the future.
Research conclusions:(1)The conception, main contents, technical route and development model of demand forecasting and analyzing of region logistics planning have been systemically described and analyzed.(2)Region logistics demand and spatial distribution is forecasted by multiple methods. ( 3)The expert's subjective judgment is expressed by number forms through the combining qualitative and quantitative method.
