Research on the Effective L ength of Receivng- departure Track of Passenger Dedicated Line

Research purposes: This paper establishes the analysis and calculation theory of the effective length of receiving- departure track on Passenger Dedicate Line and presents them ensures of shortening its effective length and its impacts thereof etc: This has profound realistic signification in the saving investment on station and yard construction project
Research methods: First, this paper establishes the calculation principle of the effective length of receiving- departure track integrated considerations; Second, this paper analyzes in detail the established theory of its effective length and distance for train safe protection ;At last analysis has been perform on adopting the proper parameter to calculate It ?s effective length, the m ensures for shortening its effective length and its effect thereof
Research conclusions : The effective length of receiving- departure track is related to rolling stocks performance, train controlmode train-bom equipment ?s performance, and the grade of station site. It is calculated theoretical that its Effective length may be much shorter than the length issued in the domestic regulation.

Study on Route Selection of WulanHot-XilinHot Railway

Research purposes: WulanHot-XilinHot Railway is a new corridor between east part and middle part of Inner Mongolia in the "Eleven Five-year" Railway Network Program, so the railway route should be selected rationally according to the distributions of the political economic base and coal resources along the line, for the purpose of providing the reference to similar construction.
Research methods: Through making analyses of the distributions of the coal resources, landform and city plan along the line, the railway route is selected sector-by-sector and the comprehensive technical and economic comparisons are made for the advantages with disadvantages of different routes with methods of statistics; simulation and evaluation.
Research results: The route selection of WulanHot-XilinHot Railway is made sector-by-sector, which can realize the target of building the new corridor between east part and middle part of Inner Mongolia to open the new channel of coal exporting and optimize the distribution of railway.
Research conclusions: The choice of railway route should be made according to the all factors of engineering, technology, economy, environment, politics, society etc, for perfect consideration of transportation capacity, construction investment, operation expenditure and to social influence etc to obtain good benefits of society, enterprise and environment

Railway Route Selection and Nature Reserve
LIU Li-bin
Research purposes: Along with the advancement of the nature reserves construction vigorously, the natutre reserves quantity and the area have been increased much. The railway constructions often face the issue related to nature reserve because of its long length, the technical limitation and the need of approach to economical foothold, so it is necessary to make proposal to the railway route selection for the purpose of selecting the best railway mute in environmental protection and sensitive areas.
Research methods: According to the different disturbances of railway route to nature reserves, the analyses,made for seeking the way of solving the problem mentioned above based on the law and standard.
Research results: The railway shall not be allowed to enter the buffer area and the core area of the nature reserves. The experimental area of nature reserve must not be destroyed in the ecological environment and the pollutants emission should not exceed the requirements of the relative standards , when railway is in experimental area of nature reserve. When the railway route has to enter the scope area of nature reserve, the railway route must be approved by the administrative department of nature reserve according to the laws and regulations.
Research Conclusions: The railway route selection is probably adjusted for keeping railway away from nature reserve if necessary based on the collected information on nature reserve first and adjust to avoidance routing. If it is impossible to keep away from nature reserve , the railway route should keep away from the core and buffer areas of nature reserve as much as possible. The construction unit should performance the procedure in prophase of construction to make the survey and design based on environmental impact assessment for promoting the construction smoothly, rapidly and legally.

Prediction in F26 Fault Zone of Changliangshan Tunnel

Research purposes: During tunnel excavation procedure, the geological predictions in advance for the area in front the construction site, especially the prediction of scale, nature and influencing scope of the regional faults are very important to the construction quality , schedule and safety.
Research methods: The relative analysis is made on the base of geological survey, working face sketch, comprehensive physical prospecting, long-teen hydrologic observations and other comprehensive methods.
Research results: The location of the fault in the tunnel can he predicted by adopting the relative joints nature, and the relating formulas are derived.
Research conclusions :The construction practice shows the comprehensive prediction technology adopted in FZ6 fault zone is reasonable and effective. 'The fault location in tunnel is predicted by the method of joint relativity analysis. The different prediction technologies should be adopted according to the different geological conditions.

Geological Survey for Ballastless Track Comprehensive Experimental Section of Chongqing Railway Terminal

Research purposes: The purposes are to make a full and efficient use of ail kinds of prospecting means to find out the geologic conditions of the foundation for providing the real geological parameters to the design.
Research methods : The different prospecting means are adopted to find out the geological conditions of each experimental section according to the different geological conditions.
Research results: After analyzing and studying the same geological investigation data, relevant specifications, standards and study results at home and abroad, the various kinds of geological surveying methods are adopted to make geological survey, and the results of survey are real, accurate and reliable, which meet the design requirements and reach at the expected target.
Research conclusions: In order to satisfy the strict requirement of ballastless track for subsidence control, the accuracy of geological investigation must satisfy and surpass existing specifications to reach and meet engineering requirement.

The Influence of PumPing Shallow Groundwater on Construction of High-speed Railway and Its Countermeasures

Research purposes : The studies are done on the characteristics of the surface subsidence caused by pumping shallow groundwater and its influence on high-speed railway and the preventive countermeasures and measures are put forward for purposes of providing the reference to the design and construction of high-speed railway.
Research methods: Considering the circumstance of surface subsidence of North China plain, the consolidation settlement model is established for surface subsidence caused by pumping shallow groundwater. Centrifuge model tests are conducted to investigate behavior of surface settlement due to pumping groundwater. A drainage system is developed to simulate pumping water during centrifuge tests. The pore water pressure and deformation of silt foundation are measured during the centrifuge model tests of the pumping water to seek their distribution regularity, and the analyses and comparison are made for the influences of them on the different types of bridge.
Research results: The analyses of the mechanism of surface subsidence caused by pumping groundwater,made,the behavior and characteristics of ground settlement due to pumping shallow groundwater and its influences on the high-speed railway are discussed with centrifuge model tests , and the countermeasures of subsidence prevention and the engineering measures are also put forward in this paper.
Research conclusions : The influence of the asymmetry subsidence caused by pumping shallow groundwater on high- speed railway engineering is serious, but it can be prevented and cured by controlling groundwater pumping and adopting suitable engineering structure.

Control of Subgrade Settlement under Condition of Thick Compressible Foundation

Research purposes: Ballastless track has been the main railway track form of passenger dedicated railway line. Control of subgrade settlement under condition of thick compressible foundation is the key difficult technical problem in construction of passenger dedicated railway line, so it is urgent to do the research on it for the purpose of working out the settlement control program with economic ration and technical reliability, which fits to the features of high embankment ballastless track.
Research methods: Based on the subgrade settlement control design of the experimental section of Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway, the rational design program is worked out through making demonstrations in technology and economy.
Research results: Because the cost of settlement control for higher embankment of thick compressible subgride is relatively high, retaining structure which usually increase the engineering cost in common design now become a method to save engineering investment.
Research conclusions: To adopt retaining structure in settlement control for higher embankment of thick compressible subgrade can save money, occupy less land and make the construction environment beautiful on the basis of improving the reliability of settlement control.

Experimental Research on Pile-Mesh Structure Subgrade of Ballastless Track of Suining-Chongqing Railway

Research purposes: In order to realize the strict control of the post construction settlement of railway subgrade of ballastless track , the pile-mesh structure subgrade is adopted in the ballastless track integrated experimental section of Suining-Chongqing Railway for the first time, so it is necessary to do the research on mechanism and load bearing characteristic of pile-mesh structure.
Research methods : The experimental researches are done on the load bearing characteristic and mechanism of the pile-mesh structure subgrade of ballastless track by adopting numerical calculation analysis, centrifuge model test, indoor cyclic loading dynamic model test and in-site test and etc. Based on the research results, the definition, working principle and design technology of the pile-net structure subgrade are discussed.
Research results:The definition , working principle and design technology are presented according to the outcomes of test and research.
Research conclusions : As the pile-mesh structure subgrade has the merits of less deformation due to”vertical settlement and less deformation-stable time, so the pile-mesh structure can be used for strengthening the deep, soft and weak subsoil of ballastless track railway, completed embankment and the special subsoil, such as in the turnout area of ballastless track.

Design and Application of High-pressure Jet Grouting Pile in Reinforcing the Foundation of Retaining Wall or the Subgrade of Passenger Dedicated Line

Research purposes: The researches are done on the computing methods of design and reinforcement of deep soft weak foundation of retaining wall with high-pressure jet grouting pile and the relative construction technical requirements are presented for the purpose of meeting the high requirements of retaining wall for passenger dedicated line in stability and deformation.
Research methods : Based on the characteristics of the retaining wall and foundation conditions of passenger dedicated line, the basic parameters are calculated with calculation theory for composite foundation, and the layout of piles and reinforcing depth are verified with compression stress diffusion theory and solid foundation theory according to the computing results.
Research results: Based on the characteristics of gravity retaining wall and new collapsible loess, and computing results of composite foundation, the comparison of the reinforcing depth with solid foundation theory with that with compression stress diffusion is made in order to provide the references to improvement of stability of retaining wall for passenger dedicated line and deciding the reinforcing depth made by solid foundation theory.
Research conclusions: The rational computing method of reinforcing depth should be selected according to the requirement of reliability of retaining wall in the course of design and reinforcement of foundation. The solid foundation computing theory should be adopted when it is necessary to largely enhance the bearing capacity of gravity retaining wall for passenger dedicated line.

Design and Constructing of Connective Pile

Research purposes: Application of connective pile can solve the difficult problem in exterior-protected construction for underground pipeline and box culvert, ensure the continuity of exterior-protected construction , and avoid the appearance of construction accident caused by seepage.
Research methods: Based on the past experiences, the investigation on geological conditions of the site and the improvement of mechanic equipment , the studies are done on the construction method and the measures for ensuring the construction quality. The practice shows the design and construction of connective pile are successful. The new research direction is put forward to extend the application scope.
Research results : After excavation , the deformation of foundation pit and the error of pipeline are in the permission range only with two leakages.
Research conclusions: This construction technique can solve the difficult problem in underground continuous wall and bored pile constructions in which there are many pipelines,but the deep research should be done on construction technique for the condition of so many deep-buried pipelines.

Application of Rounded Ring and Beam-trussed Bracing System in Excavation of Large Foundation Pit

Research purposes: Construction of the underground luggage warehouse in Beijing Xi Station is an important part of reconstruction of Beijing Xi Station, which has significance to the process of the reconstruction, so it is necessary to seek a bracing system with rational structure for rapid reconstruction through doing researches.
Research methods: The rational type of bracing system should be selected according to the geologic conditions, surrounding environmental requirements, project functions and local commonly-used construction technique and facilities as well as technical and economic conditions. The comparison and analysis of the computing results obtained by limiting equilibrium method and elastic fulcrum method are made with logic unit computing , logic united computing and SAP84 computing.
Research results: The bracing system of artificial pile exterior-protecting structure-rounded ring-beam-trussed support is adopted with rational bearing system to the structure , easy construction and rationalization in economy.
Research conclusions: The bracing system of rounded ring beam and trussed beam has the feature of rational bearing to structure and is suitable for supporting the foundation pit with large plane size,quasi-long and wide sizes , quasi-surrounding-stratum nature and quasi-resisting force. The concrete circular ring structure has the feature of rational bearing with good entire stability and the truss system has the feature of good unity. The construction can be conducted rapidly with steel component and the limiting equilibrium computing can be adopted to single exterior-protection structure.

Design of Exterior-protection Construction and Its Foundation of Bogie Repairing Room of Beijing EMU Maintenance and Repairing Depot

Research purposes: The views are expresses on the issues for caution in design of connecting cingulum window and wind resisting column with room's roof truss to the enclosure wall and the sketches of carrier piles are presented for design of the foundation of garbage disposal plant for the purpose of providing the references to design of similar building structure.
Research methods: Based on the design of bogie repairing room of Beijing EMU Maintenance and Repairing Depot, the key points of design such building are summed up.
Research results : The section steel is embedded in the contacting face between the prefabricated column' s leg and in-cast beam so as to integrate the beam with the leg in the equivalent plane. The carrier pile can pass through the garbage layer to compact the soil body for improving the bearing capacity of the pile.
Research conclusions: Application of section steel is an effective way to improve the capacity of resisting the shearing force in the contacting face between the prefabricated column's leg and in-cast beam. The wind resisting column can transfer the wind load to lateral fulcrum, but the different foundational forms should be adopted to the different situations under complex geological conditions.

Exploration on the Height of Design for Highway Subgrade

Research purposes: The height of Highway subgrade affects not only the difficulty of construction for other structure and itself, but also affects the function and cost of the whole project.
Research methods: The paper analyses the design condition of varied area, and list out the issues should be noticed when design of the highway subgrade. According to these analyses, the author gives some research and consideration to all these issues.
Research results: According the analysis of the design of highway subgrade of varied area, the author puts forward advises about the suitable height of highway subgrade. And according the experience of design, the author also puts forward some methods to improve the design of height of highway subgrade.
Research conclusions: (1) At mountain area, on the basis of the formal require to the highway subgrade , we must lay emphasis on environmental protection;(2)At flat country , we should do our best to lower the height of the embankment; (3) At weak soil area, we should pay attention to the influence of sedimentation.

Bridge Types Research on the Niujiaoping Major Double Track Bridge

Research purposes: Gives the best bridge types of NiuJiaoPing major double track bridge, and studys various possible bridge types by considerations of the factors of road bridge site, landform and geological survey.
Research methods: Giving the best bridge type through the dynamic behavior analysis and investment analysis of the different bridge types.
Research results: The research achievements consist of these bridge types ; 256 m steel truss arch , 256 m steel pipe concrete arch,(110+192+119 ) m prestressed concrete continual rigid frame and(144+192+144 ) m bottom-road bridge continual steel braced girder.
Research conclusions: To long span railway bridge , the dynamic behavior of deck arch bridge with light beam structure is easy to meet with. To railway continuous beam bridge with long span and high pier, the dynamic behavior is better when using light beam structure; using concrete beam structure is more economic.

Bridgescape Design Study of Coalescent Towers Cable-stayed Bridge

Research purposes: The Nan-Cang Bridge in Tianjin is a cable-stayed bridge with 2-beams and 4-cable planes. We design the bridge with good structure characteristic and good bridgescape according to its characteristics.
Research methods: Combining with the bridge tower, main beam, cabal and bridge color, this paper applies the research method witch integrates structure and art.
Research results: The paper explored a set of design experience for bridgescape of cable-stayed bridge,which incorporates structure and bridgescape, technology and art, bridge and entironment. And it provides the references for similar bridgescape design.
Research conclusions: In the shape design of cable-stayed bridge, the tower is pivotal. Coalescent towers cable- stayed bridge accord the condition of two-bridge-floors. Its behavior in mechanics is logical and balanced. At the same time, it has good effect of bridgescape. Furthermore,we should pay attention to the design of beam, cable and color, etc.

Characteristics of Fractured Tuff in Basalt Tunnel of Dali-Lijiang and Its Construction Countermeasures

Research purposes: There exists uncertainty in the engineering conditions of tunnel with basalt intercalated with the tuff. Adopting the current prospecting method is hard to make clear the exact distribution position of the tuff. This brings the greater difficulty to tunnel construction, so it is necessary to do the research on the characteristics of this kind of surrounding rock and the countermeasures for tunnel construction.
Research methods: By means of researching the physical properties of tuff and all kind of basalt combination relation to the tunnel excavation , and in combination with the geological predicting ahead of the working face,the various support systems far construction,analyzed.
Research results: According to the structural characteristics of the tuff in fractured basalt, seven support systems for construction and tunnel lining structure of different combination relations to basalt and tuff under all kinds of surrounding rock class are presented.
Research conclusions: The construction practice indicates that the construction measures for the different combination states of the fractured basalt and tuff are reasonable, and the effect of the timely dynamic adjustment based on the construction information feedback is favorable.

Design of Operation Ventilation Monitoring System for Gas Tunnel

Research purposes: The gas concentration in tunnel shall never 6e more than 0. 5% in anytime and anywhere during the operation, so it is necessary to do the researches on it on the basis of the requirements for the purpose of making perfect design of operation ventilation monitoring system for gas tunnel.
Research methods: Based on the design of KJ4 gas monitoring and alarm system for Zhuqing Tunnel and combining with the practical situation of the gas tunnel, the further analyses are made for the software technologies used in current monitoring system and the main problems to be solved in design of the monitoring system are made clear.
Research results: This monitoring system adopts ventilation control model based on Non-steady Flow Theory , neural network control algorithm and other advanced technologies , so the integration and reliability of the system are enhanced with easy installation, maintenance and operation and the costs of construction, maintenance and operation can be lowered.
Research conclusions: The ventilation control problem of the gas tunnel has been solved basically by applying the following softwares and technologies in the design of the gas tunnel operation ventilation monitoring system, including the computer software for fan control room, the network technology of monitoring system, the application software for local cubicle, FSK technology of data communication and switching in technology of gas monitoring sensor.

Theoretical Analysis of GSM-R System's Wireless Coverage

Research purposes: GSM-R is designed specifically for the integrated rail communications for digital mobile communication systems, to meet the requirements of train speed of 0 to 500 km/h in wireless communications with better security. GSM-R wireless coverage is an important factor for GSM-R system. The theoretical analyses of wireless coverage of GSM-R system are made for the purpose of guiding design and optimization of the GSM-R network and choosing the sites of base stations and repeaters.
Research methods: The simulation is made to Hata model, and theoretical analysis and simulation verification are made of the latency problem between directive repeater stations.
Research results: Mobile station is farther from the base station, the loss is greater in the communication path. The land form is more complex, the loss is greater in the communication path. The fiber directive repeater and base stations are covered with spatial wave. The covering distance is not more than 3. 2 km. When Fiber directive repeater station is covered in one-way, its covering distance is not more than 6 km.
Research conclusions: To choose a suitable model and transmission delay Hata is favorable to receiving the loss of better dissemination, thus the choice has been determined of the transmission distance and station sites of base station and directive repeater station.

Analysis of CTCS-2 Point-continued Type Train Control System

Research purposes: The researches are done on the successful application experience of ETCS-1,including the application of the existing automatic block technology in China to make up the insufficiency of point-continued type train control system and the application of point and continuous information as a whole, for the purposes of improving and optimizing the design and construction of CTCS-2 point-continued type train control system.
Research methods: The analyses are made in details for the difference between traditional train control mode and point -continued train control mode. Aiming at the limitation of track circuits to he train control system of high-speed railway, the point-continued design is presented.
Research results: CTCS-2 point-continued train control system based on track circuits and Balise overcomes the shortages of the existing train control system , which has a great significance to improvement for the development of passenger dedicated line (PDL).
Research conclusions : CTCS-2 point-continued train control system can increase the train control messages between train and ground communication, realize the speed-distance train control mode and improve the traffic efficiency sufficiently.

Alternative Regional Depot Distribution Plan Schemes of Shahepu Station

Research purposes: According to the status of the Shahepu station and the necessity of regional depot distribution plan, a reasonable regional depot distribution plan of the Shahepu station has been determined.
Research methods: Following the design principles of "functional, systematic, advanced, culture, economy",a study has been performed on the regional depot distribution plan and by comparison and analysis the regional station layout plan has been determined through integrated selection.
Research results: This paper puts forwards four design proposals, such as, elevated road around the waiting room , elevated Square before the station , underground roads around the waiting room and associative proposal. After the comparison and analysis are performed on the advantages and disadvantages of every program design, the associative proposal is the best.
Research conclusions: Through comprehensive comparative analysis of every program, we finally occasional recommended associative proposal. It used elevated road and underground roads around the waiting room.

Optimise Layout of Railway Freight Station Based on the Modern Logistics Concept

Research purposes: With increasing server competition in transport market, the original planning principle for the layout of railway freight station can not meet the requirements of the new conditions , so it is necessary to optimise the layout of railway freight station based on the modern logistics concept for the purpose of enhancing the competition capacity of railway in freight market.
Research method : Based on the modern logistics concept , the study is done in combination with the real operational process of railway freight station.
Research results: The principles and methods are presented for the layout of railway freight stations in the entire railway net, terminals and interior layout of a station through doing study.
Research conclusions: The three main zones of storage and transport operation zone , production processing zone and office and living zone in a freight station shall be configured separately and the basic layout of these zones can be divided into the three modes: I-type , L-type and U-type.

Research purposes: Based on the site K30 test method used for Line 3 of Shenzheng Metro, the comparisons and analyses of the test result of K30 test with standard lateral pressure penetration test, pressure-meter test and indoor test are made for the purpose of seeking the relations among them so as to provide the reference to the similar engineering survey.
Research methods: The K30 test method is adopted to test the bed coefficient of subgrade soil and the comparisons and analyses of the test result of K30 test with standard lateral pressure penetration test, press-meter test and indoor test are made.
Research conclusions: The stability K30 test is better, so it is suitable to use K30 test method to test the bed coefficient of subgrade soil. However, when there is no condition to do K30 test, it is suggested to adopt standard lateral pressure penetration test, pressure-meter test and indoor test. The tests results should be modified with the standards and experience because the bed coefficient of subgrade soil obtained from indoor test is smaller than that from K30 test.

Study on the Node Parallel Transfer Modes of Tianfu Square station

Research purposes :The transfer mode for Tianfu Square Station is demonstrated through doing study on two transfer modes.
Research methods: The studies are done on node transfer and parallel transfer according to the line alignment , flow volume and characteristics of transfer passenger and sectional line scheme.
Research results: Either the node or the parallel transfer mode can satisfy the transfer demand of the transfer passenger flow at Tianfu Square Station.
Research conclusions:The architectural arrangement of an important metro transfer station shall be affordable, reasonable and feasible and the design of which shall be conducted according to the different features of city, line-net , line alignment, different station sites and environmental conditions after doing studies on the transfer modes.
