Research on Similarity of Railway Transportation between Hainan and Taiwan Province

Research purposes: Through doing research on theory system of similarity the analysis is made for the characteristics and future similarities of economy and transportation between Hainan and Taiwan for the purposes of learning the construction experiences of integrated transportation in Taiwan,especially railway transportation , predicting the volumes of freight and passenger traffic rationally , and verifying the necessity and feasibility of construction of Eastern Loop Railway in Hainan.
Research methods: The summary is made for the different subsystem and different levels of transportations from general to concrete by adopting theory system of similarity and systematic analysis technology.
Research conclusions: According to the analysis,now the transportation similarity between Hainan and Taiwan is only 0. 4,but that will be 0. 805 after island-loop railway being formed. It shows the formation of island-loop railway is the key point to improve the overall service level of transportation so it is very necessary to build island-loop railway.

Research on the Railway Network Layout in Chengde Region

Research purposes: This paper discusses and resolves existing key weak parts in the railway construction and development in Chengde region,proposes the rational railway network layout.
Research methods: This paper indentifies existing week parts in regional railway network and proposes rational layout frame by systemic analysis on the layout , standard and capacity according to the natural and economic profile and existing railway network status in Chengde Region.
Research results: There are some weak parts in currently existed railway network of Chengde region,including irrational layout low technical standard and low transport capacity. These weaknesses should be strengthened and additional works should be done to improve the situation.
Research Conclusions: The following measures should be taken to improve the railway network layout in Chengde region: (1)Building energy resources transport corridor and entering ocean corridor.(2)Building entering Beijing high capacity fast corridor.(3)Improving existed railway technical standard level as high as possible at minimum cost. And building a railway network with proper scale,rational layout , sufficient capacity , a key frame of”one longitudinal two transversal",in radical form from city centre to regional counties.

The Convenient Channel for North-south of the Bohai Gulf ——Study and Design of the Yantai-Dalian Railway Ferry

Research purposes: The relevant technique about railway ferry in early years is not adopt to the modern development and the need of the traffic in our country. As the motorcycle,vehicle,turnout and relevant technique condition between the foreign country and our country are different deeply,the things in foreign country can not be adopted in the design and construction of Yantai-Dalian railway ferry. Therefore,it is necessary for us to systematically study the relevant questions adopting to the engineering characteristics of Yantai-Dalian railway ferry,and the research provides theoretical basis for the guide on railway berry technique design,norm design method,construction and operation.
Research methods: This paper investigates the relevent questions about the railway ferry adopting to the motorcycle, vehicle and work characteristic,with computer check of illustrated manual table,theoretical analysis,calculation and imitation experiment. And we get a right conclusion through scientific research.
Research conclusions: The questions,which involved in the engineering,such as station shape,work method,ability calculation,the max slope of trestle and trestle orbit } have been solved. Especially,the railway trestle absorbs many advanced techniques,being rated as“four first" of railway ferry in our country. The research and design results of Yantai-Dalian railway ferry have passed the reviewing of the supervisor section in our country. Many have been carried on in the engineering construction,and the parts of results have been adopted in “Railway industry station,harbour station design norm" and ”The railway station and terminal design technique manual"

Study and Application of Information Resources in Engineering Geology Survey

Research purposes: This paper solves the problems of integrated design among multiple specialties and application of survey data , and achieves the efficient utilization information in engineering geological survey.
Research methods: By using information theory and method principle and standard for information treatment are constituted,and such technology as digital collection,information treatment , systematization management and automatic application for engineering geological survey data are studied.
Research results: Information treatment on engineering geological resource is solved and a smooth transmission of engineering geological data in different special softwares is realized.
Research conclusions: It is necessary and feasible to put the digitalized data into engineering design after quick collection,orderly management , synthesized analysis and efficient treatment , and it will be a developing trend in survey field.

Steel Structure Design for the Roof Truss of One Railway Station

Research purposes: This paper researches the design of a roof truss without columns according to the requirement , such as astylar , clearer , more comfortable and so on in the rebuilding engineering of one railway station.
Research methods: Combined with the situation of the construction plot the major structure,whose plane size is 41 m x 400 m in the single-span complete coverage structure style,has no supporting column inside and only has 28 down-to-ground bracings at both sides. And space structure analysis software is adopted to do structure calculation.
Research results: By the practice of a new spatial structure system of latticed shell with bolt spherical joints and down- to-ground pipe truss,this paper provides some successful design experiences and special detail construction measures.
Research conclusions: The latticed shell with bolt spherical joints and down-to-ground pipe truss of the roof truss without columns can rationally embody the member efficiency and sufficiently display the architectonic effect. For structure in a massive figure,the influence of the temperature stress is remarkable. The structural stress performance under temperature stress can be significantly improved by the corresponding measures. The detail construction design was accomplished with the rational analysis methods,which ensures the structural safety and applicability.

The Geological Information Gathering for Digital Subgrade Cross-section

Research purposes: For various road-related survey and design enterprises in China,the Geological Information Gathering for Digital Subgrade Cross-section(GIGDSC)has recently become a bottleneck to restrain the further development of integration design with survey. Based on an overall investigation of PC hardware and software technology,this project aims to bring forward a solution which is adaptable to the features of GIGDSC,and the relevant software is then to be developed to get through a series of procedures of data transmission in the course of survey and design.
Research methods: Market investigation was firstly conducted to ensure that suitable PC hardware can be selected to carry out the GIGDSC,and then the corresponding software of GIGDSC was developed under the operation system of tablet PC.
Research results: Application of the tablet PC and self-developed GIGDSC software can successfully fulfil outdoor work and indoor data-management.
Research conclusions: With the development of science and technology,many tasks like GIGDSC,which digitalization are hard to be handled before,can also be fulfilled by means of application of new PC hardware and software technology.

Exploration on the Geological Investigation Problems of the Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: Along with the raising of technique standard for passenger dedicated railway line,deep researching the problem of foundation soil deformation,enhancing geological investigation work and improving the level of investigation are required.
Research methods: Based on the geological investigation standards for passenger dedicated railway line and I level railway,this paper analyses the distortion requirement and characteristics of geological investigation for passenger dedicated railway line,and discusses the necessity of improving the geological investigation precision , taking the angle of critical deformation and naming of the running soil.
Research results: Based on the requirement of geological investigation for I level railway,the number of boreholes for investigation of passenger dedicated railway line should be increased and the depth of borehole should be deepened. The comprehensive analysis and settlement observation are also being required. This paper brings forward the new understandings about the depth of geological investigation for passenger dedicated railway line and the selection of angle of critical deformation for the goaf , and analyses the disadvantage factors of naming of the running soil.
Research Conclusions: With the improvement of technique standard for passenger dedicated railway line,the foundation soil deformation needs to be considered seriously. The condition of regional geology should be fully analyzed. The settlement observation on site should be regarded. The angle of critical deformation of goaf for passenger dedicated railway line should be boundary angle. The running soil should not be a type of soil in the soil classification system.

Research on the Method of Subgrade Stability None-damaged Testing

Research purposes: By testing the stability of railway subgrade,rigidity of roadbed and some diseases such as subsidence of ballast , mud scum and so on are exactly detected safely , quickly and economically , while no disturbing railway running.
Research methods: In the past the subgrade can be damaged by the old measuring method and the real situation of it can not be discovered fully. Now combined with the fact situation,the none-damaged measuring method is accepted to research the subgrade totally , so that the stability of subgrade is evaluated.
Research results: By testing some proper physical volume,the present manner and disease of the existing railway subgrade is well detected,relating with the standard value of regulation. And evaluation of the subgrade stability is also provided.
Research Conclusions: This paper presents how to use the geological radar and transient Rayleigh wave method to test the existing railway subgrade,and summarizes a complete testing method that is of high maneuverability,rapid, accurate,simple and convenient , none-damaged and effective. By determining some physical quantities and analyzing the relativity between the physical quantities and the values in specification,this method can accurately disclose the status quo and disease of subgrade and evaluate the stability of the existing railway subgrade. It is very important for traveling safety and has remarkable economic and social benefits

Application of the Control Technique for the Settlement after Construction in Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: This paper discusses and sums up the technique to control the settlement after construction and it provides the experience of building passenger dedicated railway line in soft soil zone for railway construction in similar region in the future.
Research methods: Combined with the circumstance of the settlement control after construction of Qinhuangdao-Shenyang passenger dedicated railway line,the basic design and compute procedures for loose soft soil roadbed are analysed detailedly and confirmed in this paper. The prognosticate method,prognosticate accuracy,frequency and various method to estimate settlement in the future from actually measure data are also discussed.
Research results: The control technique of the settlement after construction and the basic step and contentses of dynamic designs for the soft soil and the loose soft soil roadbed are put forward finally.
Research conclusions: We can control the settlement after construction and ground decline velocity by adopting the control technique of the settlement after construction in soft soil zone.

The Present Situation and Development of Railway Sleeper

Research purposes: The descriptions are given in this paper for the main functions and classification method of railway sleepers as well as the development experience of railway sleeper and existing problems.
Research methods: Based on the development experiences of railway sleeper and the sleeper for urban mass transit the summary is made for sleeper classification method,the introduction is given to the main features of wood sleeper concrete sleeper and the special sleeper for urban mass transit , and the investigation and research are made on the problems in design,manufacture,application and maintenance of all kinds of sleepers.
Research results: The information is provided about the board concrete tie already used over four years in Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Passenger Dedicated Railway Line and the board concrete tie which is in the stage of design and tendering for intercity mass transit between Beijing and Tianjin.
Research conclusions: The development of railway sleeper and sleeper for urban mass transit should be followed: adding the types of concrete sleeper to satisfy the different laying conditions demands; improving the use life of concrete sleeper; developing and researching the new varieties of railway sleeper to adopt the fast development demands of China high-speed railway,heavy haul railway and urban rail transportation.

Centrifugal Model Test of Red and Soft Rock-filled Embankment

Research purposes: This paper reasonably confirms the compacting parameter of red and soft rock-filled embankment through investigating the settlement characteristics of red and soft rock fillings under different compacting conditions.
Research methods: This paper verifies the suitability of red soft rock-filling for embankment through the geotechnical centrifugal model test.
Research results: The after-construction settlement of red and soft rock-filled embankment will gradually weaken with increasing of compacting parameter. Under the conditions of compacting parameters:0.87,0. 90,0. 93,0.97 respectively,the ratios of final settlement after construction to heights of embankment are 2. 4‰, 1.913‰, 1.833‰, and 1 .673‰ respectively which could satisfy the requirements of after-construction settlement control standard for subgrade as regulated in “Temporary Regulations for Design of 200 km/h Railways".
Research conclusions: Red and soft rocks could be used directly as embankment fillings and its compacting coefficient should be controlled above 0. 93. This research outcome has a great significance for construction of the railways and highways in the areas covered with red and soft rocks.

The New Measuring Techniques for the Existing Railway

Research purposes: This paper resolves the problems of bad security low efficiency and low precision for the past existing railway measuring techniques.
Research methods: Surveying the existing railway by coordinate method,the core of the new technique are basing on humanity and safety , as well as cutting down the counts of surveyors. It can set the prism freely when you survey the existing railway by coordinate method. But, a separate rectangular coordinate system should be built for each cure. By this means,the measuring of mileages, the direction of railway , the little partial angle,the altitude of rail surface can be given at the same time.
Research results: Surveying the existing railway by coordinate method,the numbers of the operation flow are reduced from 5 to 2. Meanwhile,the numbers of operator are reduced from 31 to 13.Finishing the same workload , the numbers of operator are diminished 18. The numbers of the operator on line are reduced from 23 to 4. The numbers of the operator in the center of rail , where is the most dangerous,are reduced from 8 to 0. So,the factor of dangerous is mostly reduced.
Research conclusions: There are many advantages in safe producing controlling of precision and efficiency for existing railway's new measuring techniques. The aims of technique renovation are to achieve electronic records,reduce man- made errors,come true the integration of survey and design,safe production and improve benefits.

The Structure Analysis Studies and Design-essentials of the Continuous Hollow Slab Beam Erected as Simple-supported Beam in Advance

Research purposes: In order to improve the comfort when driving through the bridge,some client required that the continuous hollow slab beam erected as simple-supported beam in advance should be adopted in the design. So the author made some analysis of this structure.
Research methods: Using the structrue calculation program,this paper gets the stress characteristic of continuous hollow slab beam erected as simple-supported beam in advance. At the same time,this paper compared the continuous hollow slab beam erected as simple-supported beam in advance with another similar beam structures and the economic indicators are also analyzed.
Research results: The difficulties and main essentials of the calculation of continuous hollow slab beam erected as simple- supported beam in advance are resolved and the anticipated goal is achieved.
Research conclusions: The leveling course of bridge deck should be regarded as stress unit. The calculation of cast-in-place section of the beam above the pillar should be carried on according to the reinforced concrete component. Regarding prefabricated hollow slab beam,the calculation should be carried on according to pre-stressed concrete component of sort A or sort B. The continuous hollow slab beam erected as simple-supported beam in advance has competitive advantage in the medium span continuous beam structure and the structure is safe and economical.

Study of the New Type Shed Tunnel on the Bridge

Research purposes: According to the terrain geological conditions and the status of the existing structures, this paper discusses the alternative option of the shed hole structure in order to optimize the structural style of shed hole.
Research methods: By using structural analysis to find the control factors in the design of the shed hole structure and aiming at these control factors to compare the several different shed hole structure designments,the better designment can be confirmed.
Research results: Through systemic analysis,the style that a composite structure which is composed of independent reinforced concrete framework and simply supported beam is adopted. It has been constructed by June 2002 and it has been working well.
Research conclusions: The Labaxi shed hole is a statically indeterminate structure,whose structure design is controlled by shrinkage creep of the concrete and the temperature stress as the temperature decreasing. The composite structure can not only guarantee the general stability of the shed hole but also reduce the temperature stress.

Finite Element Analysis of Frame Bridge with Skew Angle

Research purposes: To find out a simple and feasible computing method of skew frame to guide its design.
Research methods: This paper analyzes the skew frame with 2D rigid frame and 3D space model of thick plate element with MIDAS Civil structure design system,and their results have been contrasted with comparison method.
Research results: The analysis process of frame bridge with skew angle has been given by use of MIDAS. We obtained the outcomes from two models and the difference between results with 2D rigid frame and 3 D space model of thick plate element.
Research Conclusions: It is analyzed necessarily with 3D model for frame bridge of small skew angle to direct its design. MIDAS Civil structure design system is used easily and results from it reflect the 3D skew frame mechanical behavior to direct its design.

Abutment Design Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: According to the characteristics of passenger dedicated railway line on conformation, load,durability , inspection function and appearance,the reasonable abutment is designed.
Research methods: According to the requests of abutment on function , rigidity and strength , this paper confirms the type of abutment , calculates and analyzes the mechanical behavior of abutment in crucial load combination. And this paper also checks the conclusion by general FEM software ANSYS.
Research results: Aimed at the simply supported box girder and the combined box girder of China passenger dedicated railway line,the rectangular hollow abutment and the T figure hollow abutment have been designed respectively.
Research Conclusions: The rectangular hollow abutment and the T figure hollow abutment meet the requirement of passenger dedicated railway line on conformation,load , durability and function. The setting of inspection passage from subgrade to cone to abutment to box girder is simple,reasonable and convenient.

Research on Computing Method for Vertical Bearing Capacity of Friction Pile Foundation

Research purposes: The purposes are to solve the problems existed in present computing method for vertical bearing capacity of pile foundation and the problems related to the vertical independent distortions each other between pile and soil mass system.
Research methods: First the appropriate load transfer function model is obtained through the analysis of distortion mechanism of pile and soil mass system,then,the analysis and research are made on vertical bearing capacity of pile foundation based on the principle of compatibility of deformation between pile and soil mass system.
Research results: Aiming at the existing problems existed in the computing method for vertical bearing capacity of pile foundation,a new computing method is proposed,by which the vertical deformations between the pile and soil mass system can be calculated compatibly.
Research conclusions: The result shows the contradiction of separate calculating the vertical bearing capacity of pile foundation and the vertical displacement can be solved and the requirement of engineering design can be satisfied by adopting this computing method for vertical bearing capacity , which is formed mainly on the basis of principle of compatibility of deformation and load transfer method

Design of Tunnel Portal Section with Large Span in Complicated Terrain and Geology Area

Research purposes: The complicated terrain and geology in the tunnel portal section with large span has a great influence on the tunnel construction and structure. Combined with the disposal of special section in the Dabanxi tunnel portal , this paper has made a brief summary on the design of the portal section with large span in the complicated terrain and geology area.
Research methods: According to the terrain and geology condition in the engineering project and adopted the methods of engineering analogy and structure analysis,this paper determines the economical and reasonable treatment measures and carries out the check and analysis of structure.
Research results: Treat measures for the special terrain and geology in the tunnel portal section of Dabanxi tunnel have good effects.
Research conclusions: Because of the limitation of route,terrain and geology condition in the portal section of tunnel with large span , it is difficult to enter the tunnel and dispose the structure. In the bedding side-pressure section,the pre-consolidating piles can be set within the proper scope near the mountain side to eliminate the hazard of mountain sliding to the route and structure. There should be some space for the length and setting scope of pre-consolidating pile to increase some safety reserves. In the section with steep terrain and lining foundation where there is soft-weak surrounding rock,the rockbolt retaining wall shall be set near the mountain side for reduction of cutting height to reduce disturbance of excavation to mountain body and the construction method to back-press concrete and cooperate the advance pipe shed support shall be taken to solve the difficulty to enter the tunnel. At the same time,the structural form with different thickness on both sidewalk on two sides is adopted and the pile foundation spandrel beam is set in the soft-weak surrounding rock foundation and the external foundation of lining is set on the pile foundation spandrel beam to solve the design of the lining structure.

Analysis of Train Control Centre System Interface for CTCS2

Research purposes: The train control centre system for CTCS is an important signal equipment for achieving the sixth speed-raising in China railways. Meanwhile,it is crucial equipment for completing the ground information processing and transmitting dynamic information to the train. This research is aimed at the interpenetration between the train control centre and other train control equipment } as well as the unification of their interface protocols on basis of CTCS2.
Research methods: By analysis of the relay interfaces among the existing signal systems,a series of guidable technical measures are put forward for the train control center interface on basis of the CTCS2 and the possibility is also analyzed of adopting the international standard safety digital interfaces.
Research results: The train control centre interfaces for CTCS2 adopting the international standard safety digital interface can overcome the inherent disadvantages of the existing relay interfaces. This will have the important significance in developing and applying the domestic high speed railway equipment with plug and play function.
Research Conclusions: The train control centre digital interfaces for CTCS2 is safe and reliable. It is feasible to achieve the interconnection between equipment with plug-and-play function.

Brief Analysis on Application of Optic-fiber Repeater in GSM-R Network

Research purposes: The optic-fiber repeaters are widely used in the GSM-R network. How to apply it reasonably and make it serve better in the GSM-R network needs further analysis and research.
Research methods: An analysis has been theoretically made of influences of the uplink noise from the optic-fiber repeater on the repeater and time-limited delay , etc. And some advices have been put forward on application of optic-fiber repeaters in the GSM-R engineering.
Research results: It has been pointed out through analysis that not more than four optic-fiber repeaters shall be set in each BTS. If more than four , this will reduce the sensitivity of BTS. The BTS and optic-fiber repeater shall be covered by spatial waves while the optic-fiber repeater shall be better to be covered by the single-directional antenna far from the BTS. In the LCX section,the coverage range cannot be increased due to the time-limited delay by increasing the output-electrical level of optic-fiber repeaters. It is better not to cut off the LCX between the BTS and the optic-fiber repeater.
Research conclusions: In the GSM-R engineering , not only the electrical level would be considered,but also the uplink noise and the time-limited delay would be considered.

Research on the Design of Metro Line

Research purposes: The design of metro line is an important step and the decided parameters have effected on the engineering cost directly. This paper discusses the auxiliary line,distance between the two lines in curve and grade,sums up the theories and material design,and provides the reference and help for the line design.
Research methods: The geometry and algebra equation are used in the course of research combining with design experience in Shenyang Metro.
Research results: Through studying the correlative parameters of the metro design,this paper educes computing formula of the effective length,cross-over distance between the two lines and economical grade,and sets forth the influence of structure delimitation,track style,signal system on the design of line.
Research Conclusions: The studying of calculational method explains the close relations of metro line,track and signal. The different designs depend on different parameters. We need comparison and choice of different plans,so reasonal line plans will be attained.

The Project Choice of Common Beam Type in the No. 3 Light Rail Line Continuing Construction in Dalian

Research purposes: Take the viaduct of No. 3 light rail line continuing construction in Dalian for example, this paper researches the project of comparing and selecting girder shape to reach the demands of bridge aesthetics, safety and cost of bridge engineering.
Research methods: Aiming at the geologic and topographic conditions of Dalian and by the methods of comparing and selecting,the research on the structure form,structure system,materials,construction methods and synthetical index of different bridge girder shape were discussed and researched.
Research results: Considerated from aspects of bearing forcing character construction period,sight effect , construction influence to the environment , reasonable economy , and durability of the material , etc,this paper makes sure the light rail beam suitable for the common district in Dalian.
Research conclusions: By argumentation the projects of all kinds of beam type,the No. 3 light rail line continuing construction in Dalian adopts(3-5)-25 m single-box single cell prestressed concrete continuous beam and construction method adopts supporting frame and casting in site method.

Application of KVM Remote Monitored Control Technology in Integrated Monitored Control System for Subway

Research purposes: The possibility of application of KVM remote monitored control technology in integrated monitored control system is verified in combination with the characteristics of the integrated technology of integrated monitored control system for subway and its operational requirements.
Research methods: Through making the detailed analysis of KVM technical principle based on IP and the comparison among several present applied programs of integrated monitored control system for subway in China,the discussion is made on the solution to solving the problems in integration of integrated monitored control system by adopting KVM technology.
Research results: The difficult problem in integrating electromechanical devices for integrated monitored control system is solved by adopting KVM technology. So the integrated control of electromechanical equipments is realized with good integration result to the system and the requirement is satisfied for operational control of electromechanical equipments under condition of no interfering the system safety.
Research Conclusions: The integrated control of electromechanical equipments can be realized by adopting KVM technology with less cost under conditions of the present level of the automation technology in China,by which the problem in integrating electromechanical system is solved.

Exploration on Countermeasures for Development of Railway Transportation in Course of Transport Integration

Research purposes: Aiming at the present development situation of railway transportation in China and the existing problems,the countermeasures for the development of railway transportation are offered from the transport integration's point of view,for the purposes of relaxing tension of railway transportation and realizing the coordinated development of all modes of transportation.
Research methods: According to the development characteristics of railway transportation the railway' s role in integrated transportation is determined on the basis of the role of integrated transportation } and from which the concrete countermeasures for railway development are offered.
Research results: The attention should be paid to the distribution of railway terminals along with integrated transportation terminals,the major effects should be made to development of high-speed railway } freight and passenger dedicated railways,the construction of high-speed passenger transportation should be speeded up,the modern logistics should be developed,and the transportation management informationnization should be improved and the transportation management system should be innovated.
Research Conclusions: From the integrated transportation development's point of view,railway transportation industry should make policies and take measures for strengthening the innovations of technology,management and system,laying it out rationally and developing itself coordinately with other transportation modes,realizing it leaping development promoting the modernization of integrated transportation system,optimizing transportation resources and obtaining the best social and economic benefits.
