1 EFFECT OF RAILL JOINTS ON RAISING SPEED OF JING-JIU RAILWAY

11 MEASUREMENT OF EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE IN FULL CROSS-SECTION OF STEEL RAIL AND THE DATA ANALYSIS

The principle and structure of the self-made testing instrument for measuring the effective temperature in the full cross-section of steel rail arc described and discussed in this paper. The conception of the effective temperature in full cross-section of steel rail was proposed and the mathematical model was set forth. Mathematical statistics was put forward on experimental data so as to obtain the temperature distribution curve on the same cross-section of the steel rail. The relationships between the effective temperature and the average temperature,between the environmental temperature and the effective temperature,and between the rail-top temperature and the rail-bottom temperature,are analyzed.

16 CONSTRUCTION OF CRUSHED-STONE PILE IN THE GROUND WITH SATU- RATED COHESIVE SOIL

The vibrating immersed-tube crushed-stone pile is a kind of ground treating method developed in the recent 20 years. For the ground with saturated cohesive soil,especially for project which is not controlled by the deformation,the crushed-stone piles were adopted to treat the ground by replacement in order to enhance the overall stability of the weak cohesive soil ,aimed at to achieve the reinforcement of the ground. During construction of crushed-stone piles,the upper layer of A14 tender section on Qin-Shen dedicated passenger traffic railway line was newly-backfilled original cohesive soil. Combined with these special geologic conditions and the construction experiences in the past,the construction technology directed against such section was presented.

This paper analyses the "64 Type" beam unit as a finite clement. Its clement stiffness matrix and coordinate switch matrix arc obtained,and then the method of assembling primitive stiffness matrix of the structure is introduced. Comparing the calculation results of a simply supported beam assembled by "64 Type"beam units and that of the truss model,the theory of strength design is discussed.

The Jiazhuqing Tunnel in Nanning-Kunming Railway is a kind of strong pressured tunnel which was the first tunnel designed and constructed by our country. During its design and construction,the principles of rock machanics were reflected fully for guiding the design and construction,so as to obtain successful effect. The whole process for applying several important formulas of rock mechanics arc described in this paper,and are expounded through the practical construction works of the Jiazhuqing Tunnel. Some traditional theories are described and evaluated also,and there arc new ideas on application of the rock mechanics. It provides reference for the popularization of rock mechanics on the engineering applications. Through analyses of the reasons which cause the deformation of culvert or tunnel several times,it is considered that there are many reasons,but the role of the soil filled on the top of culvert is more significant, which affects directly on the structural design. Based on the railway and highway bridge and tunnel design standards,the loading calculations of the soil filled on the top of culvert are introduced and compared,and the more reasonable calculating method has been proposed in this paper.

The northern district of the Hai-Gong Section was a test section on the Vo. d line of Guangzhou Subway,which was constructed by using the mining method. The allocated situation of construction machinery in this district is introduced in this paper,and compared with several sections on the No. I and No. II lines of Guangzhou Subway,in which the mining method was used. The allocation model of construction machinery to implement low investment and safety rapid excavation for urban subway's section has been proposed. It provides an example valuable as reference for allocation of construction machinery during constructing subway's section by using the mining method hereafter.

The multi-year frozen soil at Qing-Zang Plateau possess of big sensitivity upon the change of environmental thermo-state. In order to guarantee the railway safety stable operation,it is required immediately to put forward a long-term monitoring on the state of multi-year frozen ground and the railway structures and buildings constructed on the frozen ground,to discover and forecast the change of geologic conditions along the railway and their developing regularity deeply and timely,so as to systematically control their dynamic changes and harmful effects on structures and buildings along the railway. At the same time,the relative design schemes,structures and construction treatment measures may be verified,sections where deformation defects occur may be forecasted and the engineering measures may be analyzed and evaluated. Corresponding preventive countermeasures under the defect conditions may be established,so as to control the stability of the multi- year frozen ground timely,initiativelv and effectively during the operation of Qing-Zang Railway in the future.

75 STUDY ON SEVERAL PROBLEMS CORRESPONDING TO STATION AND YARD OF HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY

This paper sums up experiences and lessons in the aspects of high-speed railway construction and transport organization patterns in Japan and Germany. Combining the preliminary study and design circumstances of high-speed railways in China,it conducts valuable study on several problems corresponding to station and yard of high-speed railway that have not been conducted deep study at current stage. These problems include the connecting mode between the stations of high-speed railway and that of the existing line,the options of operating pattern of high-speed railway,standard plane layout of the station of high- speed railway and its application scope. It sums up the design of stations and yards of the proposed Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway corresponding to the relative problems,which can be referred for study and design of high-speed railway in the future.

The high-speed railways bring enormous economy benefit,but at the same time railway noise is increasing. With the building of the high-speed railways and the improvement of the speed on the other main railways,the problem of noise is standing out. The railway noise problem has become one of the problems that our country has to research and resolve. From September 1998 to August 1999,the author of this paper had researched for a year in Japan Railway Technology Research Institute as a visit scholar. During that time I participated in real car test and special topic research on Japan Shinkansen high-speed passenger car noise. This paper analyzes the mechanism of the rolling noise and puts forward the ways to reduce noise.

The paper introduces the general situation of the underground engineering works and the geologic state of the public square at Gongbei Port in Zhuhai City. Being directed against the complex geologic conditions,etc,the scheme of "underground diaphragm wall +counter weight fill work +partial topdown construction method" had been adopted. The design,calculation,construction,supervision and several relative problems are expounded in detail and explored in this paper. Structure safety of this engineering project was guaranteed,the construction works were convenient ,and the time limit for the project was more reasonable.

The floor radiation heating system consists of different floor face layer materials with heat conducting pipes beneath them. The regression curve equation of floor radiation thermal conductivity K has been obtained through curve simulation based on experimental data of the floor radiation heating system by using the mathematical statistics method. It provides the theoretical base to implement the optimal design of the floor radiation heating system.
