Abstract:The extra-long bridge over Poyang Lake is a key engineering project controlling a railway line. Engineering geological condition is very complex. Through the comprehensive analysis and the study of data front the remote sensing,geological mapping, comprehensive geophysical-prospecting,drilling, present crustal deformation, modification of Poyang Lake and earthquake,etctthe distribution,scale and characters of the faults,the developed rule of Karst and the features of soft soil in the bridge site are expounded. It is considered that the present crustal movement is relatively steady in Hukou Area of Poyang Lake and the stability of the bridge site won’t be influenced by the new structuarl movement herein.
