Abstract:The main span of the Hongzhou highway major bridge in Sichuan Province is a half-through composite steel tube concrete arch bridge with a length of 100 m and a height of 25 m. The arch circle consists of two ribs. Each rib was constructed by three circular steel tubes with variable cross-sec- dons. The arch ribs were assembled by hoisting and fabricated in high-altitude. The paper makes calculation and check for the hoisting scheme,describes the construction method in detail,and introduces the techniques for its position control and the curvature control of the arch ribs.
