Abstract：Nowadays, the drilling and blasting method is a basic method for excavating tunnels in China, Therefore,its standardization of design and the systematic technical renewal are very important for enhancing the quality and speed of the excavation of tunnels and ensuring the safety operation. The paper introduces in detail the design feature of the tunnel blasting design expert system and its operation situation. The aspect of intelligent design concerned with the smooth blasting in this expert system has been proposed as valuable reference for the follow-up engineering.
