Abstract：Based on investigations and researches, firstly, this paper sums up the characteristics, of cutting slope surface erosion of granite eluvium in the south of China,including three aspects: its types,shapes,generation and development. Then，it analyses the influence features of slope surface erosion in brief. Finally,this paper researches the critical gradient of slope erosion,and obtains a result that the gradient thresholds are about 43 degree.
