Abstract：Analyses are put forward on the superiorities of the cantilevel tunneling machine, its feasibility in construction of railway tunnels, as well as the excavation scheme, the formation of complete mechanized set and the auxiliary technologies in the construction of railway tunnels. The particular implemental methods are proposed. Furthermore, the technical economic comparisons between the drilling and blasting method and the cantilevel tunneling machine method has been put forward also in this paper. It is useful as reference for researching the non-blasting tunnel excavating schemes.
