Abstract：The consideration which has been proposed in this paper for raising speed on existing railways in the mountainous regions should be divided into two stages, i. e. up to design speed, and then raising speed. The optimum selection for raising speed of railways in mountainous regions by using tilting trains is described in detail. While, the necessity to put forward the market control and regulation for rising speed of railways in mountainous regions are emphasized also in this paper.
