Abstract:Some measures may be used to provide frost protection for tunnel constructed in severe cold regions. Drainage systems for preventing groundwater accumulating and thermal insulated panels are often used. Even though, in most cases frost heave force acting on tunnel lining still appears obviously, ft usually causes lining deformed, cracked and broken. On base of tracing on mechanism and characteristics of frost heave force, different models for calculating it in case of rock and sail surrounding ground are adopted respectively.
