Abstract:Research purposes: The difference between a submerged floating tunnel(SFT ) and a traditional submarine tunnel is that the former is subjected directly to wave and current action, and the wave action, which varies as a function of time, will cause dynamic effect in the SFT. Therefore, the dynamic response analysis of the structure under wave load should be inevitable in designing the project.
Research methods: In this paper, the SFT with its supporting structure is simplified into a finite element model of a spatial beam system,by employing beam element CR formulation and considering the interaction of the wave and structure a calculating analysis on the influence of the deposited depth of tunnel under water surface, the incident angle of wave, the shape of tunnel's section on the dynamic responses of the SFT is carried out.
Research results: The result shows that the range of displacement-response of the tunnel tube in y-direction decreased by 67% as the deposited depth of tunnel drops from 30 m to 50 m; the above-mentioned range decreased by 98 % as the wave incident angle decreased from 90o to 45 o;the range of displacement-response in the y-direction of the tunnel tube with an elliptic cross section was 25 times as that of the tunnel tube with a circular cross section.
Research conclusions: The dynamic response of the SFT is influenced obviously by the deposited depth of tunnel under
