Abstract:Research purposes: As the topographic and geologic conditions of the areas where the Guizhou - Guangxi Railway passes are extremely complicated,the railway alignments were made again for the main optional construction schemes during the periods of feasibile study and preliminary design based on the new technical requirement and standard and in combination with the complicated topographic and geological conditions along the railway. This paper reviews and summarizes the comparison and choice of the optional schemes for the railway alignments in the sections between Jinchengjiang - Nachao and Nachao - Dashan for the purpose of providing the reference to the railway alignment in the karst and soft soil area.
Research conclusions: By comparing and selecting the optional schemes and following the principle of keeping the railway away from goaf and soft soil areas for the railway alignment in karst and soft soil areas,the track conditions were improved and the safety hidden danger was eliminated,obtaining good social and economic benefits.
