Abstract: Abstract:Research purposes: The super major Jinsha river bridge of the Lijiang-Shangri-La Railway is the first heavy railway suspension bridge in domestic. The bridge is located in alpine valley, rock mass of slope is in unloading and loose, with the characteristics of the development fault and frequent seismic activity, and the developed harmful geological bodies, such as rock debris, rock avalanche and falling rock. Based on the geology environment and the mechanical characteristics of foundation of the bridge, employed the comprehensive survey methods, analyzed the site and slope stability, got the foundation strength of the bridge to provide the basic data for the foundation installation and computation analysis of the bridge.Research conclusions:Adopted the comprehensive survey methods, such as the excavated tunnel investigation, drilling, engineering geophysics, geological survey, in-situ and indoor tests, analyzed and discovered: (1) The site of bridge is stability because of without the active fault in the Holocene passing, and the secondary geological disaster is lighter. (2) The bearing stratum for foundation is the schistose hard basalt, with high foundation strength. (3) The slope has deep unloaded and loosen zone, and part of developing the rock debris, rock avalanche and falling rock and discontinuous structural plane. However, the slope of bridge foundation is in stability, and the scheme of bridge is feasible after the reinforcement measures for the slope. (4) The comprehensive survey methods of this paper are reference for the engineering geological investigation of bridge in alpine valleys with high intensity.
