Abstract:Research purposes: The platform canopy is one of the main components of Shanghai South Railway Station , the first railway station in the 21st century. In this paper, the discussion is made on the possibility of releasing the thermal deformation of the super-long steel structure of Shanghai South Railway Station platform canopy, and the hinged joints of tree-shaped columns are optimized to make its indexes meeting the design requirements for the purpose of obtaining the best architectural effects.
Research conclusions : The new conception of temperature deformation joints in the high stress area of the super-long steel structure is put forward based on the analysis of the special environment of Shanghai South Railway Station platform canopy. The structures are continuous and beautiful by doing so. The joint's beautification design was realized by the theoretical analysis and experimental verification.
