Abstract:In this paper, a case history of the application of tiltmeter system to monitor the stability of tunnel is introduced. In Dayaoshan Tunnel, the tilting deformation measurement of side wall is carried out by tiltmeter system at No.9 fault section during the construction of parallel water tunnel in order to understand to which extent the stability of existing main tunnel shall be influenced by the excavation of adjacent water tunnel. It proves that the tiltmeter system is an easy and promising measurement measure, which can measure the peripheral tilting deformation of tunnel and accurately monitor the influence due to the excavation of adjacent tunnel.
