Abstract：Based on the a nalysi s on the loading specialities of a g round during manual cut and replacement, the paper propo ses the new sugg estions o n the calculation fo rmulas of the distribution of the st resses. There are mainly the follow ing three points: ( 1) The di stribution of st resses are divided as the co nica l dist ributio n and the co lumna r dist ributio n acco rding to the physical speciali ties of the underg round lay er beneath the cut and replacement lay er. ( 2) The fo rmerly used pyramidical and prismatic st ress di st ribution a re revised as ci rcular-co nical and ci rculra-columnar respectiv ely. ( 3) Ba sed o n the spacial so lution of the elastic semi-infinite element theo ry, the sug gested v alue of the st ress spread a ngle has been derived. Based on the abov e three sugg estio ns, the calcula tion fo rmulas of stress dist ributio n under di fferent conditions a re wo rked out.
